The fire episodes last night were good, Nick's performance was one of the best he's ever given, although he was still a bit wooden when he was sorting out the girls outside after the alarm first went off. However Todd's acting was poor in the scenes at the hospital.

Corrie has been nominated for the following at the British Soap Awards 2004, being shown on ITV1 on 12th May.

Best Actor - Chris Gascoyne (Peter Barlow), David Neilson (Roy Cropper) and Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald)
Best Actress - Barbara Knox (Rita Sullivan), Suranne Jones (Karen McDonald) and Kate Ford (Tracy Barlow)
Sexiest Male - Keith Duffy (Ciaran McCarthy), Ryan Thomas (Jason Grimshaw) and Bill Ward (Charlie Stubbs)
Sexiest Female - Suranne Jones (Karen McDonald), Samia Ghadie (Maria Sutherland) and Kate Ford (Tracy Barlow)
Villan of the Year - Kate Ford (Tracy Barlow) and Wendi Peters (Cilla Brown)
Best Soap - Coronation Street

Im voting for;

Best Actor - Simon Gregson
Best Actress - Barbara Knox
Sexiest Female - Suranne
Sexiest Male - Ryan - well he is the best of the 3.
Villan of the Year - Kate Ford
Best Soap - Corrie (of course!)

Id dont think Corrie will have much chance in these categories as there is big competition from the usual EE people. However they might be in with a chance for Best Soap.
Other categories will be judged by a panel, and nominations will be announced for those a few weeks before the awards.

If you want to vote you can find the voting form in this weeks Whats on TV magazine.

I thought Nick's shouting outside the factory was a bit over the top - he still can't act. Maria outperformed him in the final hospital ward scene.

BOYZONE'S KEITH IS CORRIE LANDLORD

EX-BOYZONE star Keith Duffy is to take over as boss of the Rovers
Return.

Keith's romeo Irish barman Ciaran McCarthy breezes in as the
Street's youngest landlord, and quickly upsets the apple cart.

He tells ex-landlady Shelley Unwin (Sally Lindsay) to flash more
cleavage, bars men in work gear and suggests karaoke and live bands.
Even Betty's hotpot is threatened as he dreams of creating a gastro-
pub to "get the yuppies in".

A source said: "To say he starts badly is an understatement. He gets
carried away by his own importance and soon starts talking
about 'brainstorming sessions' and 'number crunching'. He's like a
bull in a china shop."

Ciaran, who arrived in Weatherfield full-time just over a year ago,
gets the job because Rovers' owner Fred Elliott (John Savident)
tires of the behind-the-bar bickering of Shelley and her mum Bev
(Susie Blake).

"Fred's soon wondering if he's blundered big time in appointing cut-
and-thrust Ciaran," said the source. "It's laugh a minute stuff."

Though as OTT as it was it apparently beat Eastenders by 2 Million viewers last night, must be a first for some time now.

When is Nick Tilsley leaving? I can't wait for him to go.

Tonight's episode was quite good, especially the scene with Les giving Janice a piggy-back! Laughing

I thought tonight's episode was good, better than some of the others earlier this week.

For those who want to know, the Corrie where Lisa Duckworth dies is aired next Thursday at 9am on Plus, something which I will not be missing.

So now they've got Sarah living in the Bookies Flat, Nick moving into the Cab Office Flat and Martin in the empty shop flat, there's now more Platt's at that end of the street than at Gail's end, all she need now is for David to move out!

There seems to be an above average number of flats in Corrie, with always one spare whenever someone needs to move out/gets divorced etc!

Meanwhile I've been watching corrie this week trying to guess to see what Harry Hill will come up with, He's surely got to mention the fire, along with Baldwin shouting in everyone's face afterwards and of course 'chase me crush a grape' Nick, who of course was as wooden as ever tonight!

Corrie won't win many awards. For a start, it's going to be one of those "Best Actor, as voted for by readers of the What's On Tv magazine" events - and we all know how Eastenders-biased that magazine is.

This week they have a picture of no other than Kat Slater on the front. No change there. The caption is "Will Kat cheat on Alfie?" - perhaps the subheading should read "...and does anybody really care?". In the corner, they have Karen McDonald ripping Tracy's hair out at the baptism of her child. Obviously far less eventful than the possibility that Kat Slater might cheat on Alfie.

Dirty Den will win the villain award, despite not having done anything remotely villanous since his return, and the 'sexiest' awards will, as usual, go to Kat and Alfie.

Best Soap - Eastenders. Why, you ask? It's because Corrie fans aren't daft enough to waste money voting Wink

Yes it was really good last night, I like it when Gail starts shouting like she did in the final scene. She went way OTT Laughing

Yes they are biased, I cant believe the amount of EE covers they get for trivial rubbish like this weeks is - Inside Soap are just as bad. I no longer get Inside Soap anymore, not even Corrie covers, and ive written an e-mail telling them why and how i'll never buy it again. Its not just because of the amount of EE covers, its also because since it became weekly they have completely ruined a once decent magazine.

The sexiest male/female categories are the most pointless awards ever - EE people always win them regardless if they are sexy or not, but just because they are on EE. I bet it will be Jessie Wallace again and either Shane Ritchie or Dennis from EE.

Im not sure about Best Soap - I dont watch EE but a lot of people have said its been poor this last year, maybe Emmerdale will win and suprise everyone!

I don't understand why Gail called the cab flat a dump, because it was built by the same person who built her house, which must make that a dump as well.

Eh?

I think it was more to do with the fact that her son was moving out!

But Gails house is much nicer than that small flat above Street Cars, also Gails house was built in 1990, along with the other houses that side of the street, the Street Cars flat wasnt seen until much later than that.
