But Fred Elliott falling into a hole in Audreys garden isn't?

Sorry, I'm being all Dimbleby... Confused

Yes that was stupid too. There's comedy, and there's slapstick, and unfortunately some of it is going too far into the slapstick territory for me.

I enjoyed the stuffed cat bits tonight though - if only to see Sue Cleaver who I think is woefully underused.

I enjoyed tonights episodes, especially the 2nd one. The birthday meal at the Baldwins was great. Frankie in the car with Jamie saying she'd kill anyone who slept with Danny, while back home he was with Leanne. it should be brilliant when she finds out, she doesnt like Leanne at the best of times. Adam failed again tonight, its like he is reading his lines off an autocue, he puts not emotion into it at all. Warren was marginally better.

Fred and the butchers was a bit rubbish, but Sean and the Grimshaws were good.

The scenes with Rita, Emily and Norris were funny tonight, as were Lena and Ken, shame wooden Adam ruined that scene. I enjoyed the developments in the Leanne and Danny storyline also.

The stuffed cat is a lame attempt at comedy, it was funny on Monday with Sean Violet and Jason, but not tonight. And since when did vets come out to see animals when it clearly *isnt* an emergency? The whole thing is clearly an excuse to introduce Sean's new love interest, couldnt they think up something better than this?. The butchers thing is getting ridiculous as well.

For those interested some details of which episodes will be on the forthcoming Corrie 1970s DVD box set have been revealed. Go to this link and scroll to the bottom and there is a list there with 8 eps on each disc. http://www.soapchat.net/archive/index.php/t-119827.html

Some eps on this DVD set ive never seen, some ive seen on Granada Plus repeats (1976-1979), only a small amount ive kept on video however. Im glad they are including Val's death, Ernie's murder, The Warehouse Fire, The Lorry Crash to name a few - ive pre ordered this and cant wait. Well worth every penny IMO.

My God, what a collection of great episodes there! I'm looking forward to it and yes Jez, it is worth every penny Smile

Worth every penny or not, it's still a lot of pennies, and more that I can afford at the moment. Sad

It is a lot yes but when you think there are 80 episodes on it its good value for money overall - 80 episodes of 70s Corrie - bliss!

And rumour has it they are releasing an 80s one towards the end of the year as well so id best start saving, unless I can persuade someone to get it for me for Christmas.

Good offer.

My friend tells me they might be releasing each DVD individually at about £12.99 each, so for those who dont want to get them all in one go that will be good.

Highlight to read

A fight in the rovers leads to a shocking and heartbreaking exit for one character.

Shelley finally snaps out of it and realises just how evil Charlie is.

Seans new relationship leaves him heartbroken.

Did anyone else notice the kids in the back of the taxi shouting out of sync last night? Presumably they'd initially shot them shouting out names of Cadbury products, along with 'Mars Bars', 'Polo Mints' and 'Smarties' (which were left in) but realised later that they could be fined for product placement as they're sponsored by Cadbury, so had to dub over with words like 'sweeties'.

I wonder if the original names have been left in for transmission abroad.

Nice interview with Sally Lindsay on Media Guardian today talking about her current storyline.

Good evening...

... I am new.

I'm a long-time Coronation St fan from Norn Irn, and enjoying the parallels between the duelling butchers (cleavers at dawn?) and the Shakespeare play "Twelfth Night" at the moment. I've been busy so have missed a few episodes in the last few weeks, but it's lovely catching up...

AND I really, really, really hate Cilla.

That's all for now...
