Ive just checked the Radio Times website and it appears Corrie will be on from 8.30pm-9.30pm AGAIN on 20th June, despite ITV telling me in an e-mail it would be business as usual from that date.
They've got it wrong then as it's back to normal on 20th June, so ITV were right

Well id say it was a schedule change rather than them getting it wrong, so they should as well, it should never have been moved in the first place.

I doubt it as it's the final of CLI on the 20th June so would probably always have been scheduled for 90 minutes
Until a certain number of days before publication listings arn't confirmed so early listings like those on the RT website seem to be based on last week's listings with changes
Don't know if anyone else saw this on Teletext today but apparantly Coronation Street bosses are furious with ITV1 for using the soap to prop up reality shows - especially the merging the Monday double episodes and moving them to 8.30pm.
Corrie bosses claim their ratings have suffered as a result, with something like a 15% decline, and that the move has failed to significantly boost CLI's ratings.
It's gone as far as an emergency meeting according to Teletext.
Yes I saw that. Good for them making their voices heard, they should insist ITV stop using Corrie as a weapon in the ratings war and go back to a maximum of 3 or 4 episodes a week to protect the quality of the series, and keep it in its traditional Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 7.30pm slots
Its only because Corrie's storylines have been so good over the last 2 years that the show hasnt suffered in a decline in quality and ratings , and they have managed to carry 5 (or up to 8 a week when needed) episodes a week.
Well I wouldn't say return to 3 or 4. I think 5 episodes a week is perfectly acceptable - and I think the Monday night doubles (when done properly) work well.
Corrie has pretty much maintained it's standard and even strengthened with the increase episodes, mainly as it has an excellent ensemble cast.
I do think Emmerdale has suffered though at six nights a week. They should axe the Sunday episode (and considering it has no ads, they can't claim it boosts revenue etc.)

Does it really need a double episode every Monday, would it be there if it wasnt for ITV needing a good program before the important 9pm slot. Again this shows ITV are using Corrie for their own ends, 5 a week is acceptable because storylines have been good/ratings are high, but realistically I dont think they are ever going to reduce it from 5 a week now unless ratings drop.
I agree about Emmerdale, it goes through phases of either being really boring or OK but 6 a week is ridiculous and I cant keep up with watching all 6 a week.
It really is such short-sighted thinking to be over-using Corrie in this way. Given that it's ITV's most valuable asset you'd have thought they'd have treated it with more care. If they carry on with too many episodes and schedule changes, they could end up seriously damaging it.
The ideal situation for ITV would be to move Corrie to 8.30pm. I believe they were considering this a few years ago (I think during David Liddiment's era) as it was seen that some people watched Corrie, turned over to EastEnders and then if they didn't want to watch any 9pm programme they just stuck with BBC1 by default
Obviously they didn't do this as it would cause an outcry, but instead introduced the extra 8.30pm Monday episode
Well ive been a bit bored with Corrie over the last couple of weeks, although I enjoyed Friday's episode (yet to see tonights). I think its all this Shelly and Charlie stuff, is it just me or is it a REALLY boring storyline? Maybe I enjoyed Fridays because Shelly failed to appear and the Tracey/Steve story FINALLY stopped going around in circles?
Anyway its not all been bad, Blanche has been on form recently and its been nice to see Gail in it more as well after a break. The Danny and Leanne affair is good and we should get some good scenes from that storyline this week. Also Sean's new love interest Tim arrives on Wednesday.
Nikki Sanderson has announced she is quitting while Liz Dawn has announced she is staying, and Danny Young and Keith Duffy have filmed their final scenes so will be off soon. So we have Warren and Ciaran leaving this summer and then Candice and Martin leaving before the end of the year.
I couldn't agree more Jez. I think Corrie's moving into it's Summer lull at the moment. The Charlie / Shelley storyline, just doesn't seem to be moving on at all. The Steve / Tracy / Amy thing is a bit tedious as well. I also really couldn't care less about the Leanne / Danny / Jamie storyline as they're characters which don't really interest me at all.
Only the odd comedy moments from Blanche have managed to lift the programme of late.

Fully agree with you both - there's been nothing to run to this forum and comment on! Roy's contraption story is just daft - and if the spoilers are anything to go by a Fred Elliot boxing story looks plain stupid.

Yes its definately in its summer lull at the moment. Ive heard this Shelly and Charlie rubbish is going on until the autumn which is just too long. I know in real life this type of thing could last years but on screen its just going around in circles and we feel very little sympathy for Shelly as she is stupid for staying with him. The Danny/Leanne storyline I like because I quite like both characters involved as well as Frankie, although how many times have soaps done the "father sleeps with sons girlfriend" storyline before. Tonights should be good though with Jamie's mum turning up at the Baldwins.
Last nights episode I thought was average , the scenes with Liz and Deirdre were great, and Blanche was good again, the rest was a bit boring.
I also cannot believe how poor an actor the new Adam Barlow is, in those scenes the other week with Sally at the factory, and again when he turned up late for work, ive never seen such terrible acting in my entire life, not even Adam Rickett was this wooden.
