Maybe they'll stick to a one hour time slot if this is a success?

I hope not!

Im glad the Mel stuff is over with, I was getting a bit sick of that storyline.

The scenes with Jamie/Leanne/Jamie's mum were good, so overall and average episode tonight.

.

I've enjoyed this storyline, lots of comedy and good scenes with Rita and the older characters.
What I wanted to know is why they let Lionel Hipkiss leave without getting their money back, Roy gave him cash!

IS this story REALLY over - or is he going to be around for a few more days yet?

Yes indeed. What kind of message does that send out. "You can con people now AND take their money from right under their noses! "
I did smile though at the line "and here is the knit-wit in the knit wear!

Catch yourself on Stephen, of course I care about Elizabeth

A guest appearance tonight from Jim McDonald, direct from the big house so he was.

Do you think Jim will ever come back as a regular character, or will he keep getting his sentence extended each time?

I dont think they will bring Jim back as a regular character - I think the whole point of having Jim's sentance extended was so they wouldnt have to write him back into the storylines on a permanent basis. By the time he will eventually be released Liz will have moved on with her life and they might not even mention Jim.

Ive just seen the schedules for Monday 6th June and yet again Corrie has been moved for Emmerdale - it isnt a Bank Holiday so I see no reason WHY Corrie should move from its regular slot. Rolling Eyes

Todays NOTW claims 'Curley' will be returning to the street later this year for Martins leaving do. Not sure if it's long term or not, I hope not though. After the initial outrage from fans after it had been revealed he'd been axed, the show got along quite well without him. and wasn't as big a loss as people expected. I can't see how he'd fit into the show now.

I read that in the NOTW also. I do hope it's for the one or two episodes, not permenantly. I was upset that he left but I agree that the show has got along and for him to come back full time would be a mistake.

I hope it isnt true about Curly either, I never really liked him, dont like Martin either, will be glad to see the last of him.

Anyway, a familiar face returns to Corrie a week on Monday, Shelley's mum Bev Unwin. Im really looking forward to her returning! . Here are some spoilers from All About Soap. Highlight to read them

Can Bev Save Shelley?

Deirdre phones Bev to tell her that Charlie is keeping Shelly prisoner upstairs at the Rovers. So Bev goes around to the Rovers and tries to go upstairs to see Shelly, but Charlie stops her. However Ciaran steps in and holds him back so Bev can go upstairs. Bev gets a shock when she opens the door and sees Shelly with her black eye. She naturally assumes Charlie caused. Shelly gets exasperated by Bev's assumptions and forces her downstairs into the pub. Thats when everyone else sees Shelly's black eye, and they also all assume it was Charlie who hit her.

After being rejected by Shelley, Bev turns to Deirdre. They both go to the police station, however the police inform them that unless Shelley reports it or there is a witness there is nothing they can do.

Bev decides she is going to stay around to keep a close eye on Shelley and Charlie. She gets a lot of support from her friend, Liz and Deirdre. Liz in particular wants to expose Charlie's true colours.

Those spoilers sound good, I'll be looking forward to that. Tonights episode was good and it'll be interesting to see how the Danny and Leanne affair progresses. Diggory is also growing on me and the confrontation scene between Cilla and Claire was brilliant. Especially Cillas comment about potatoes being a vegetable, clearly trying to justify the fact she always feeds him chips. Classic!
