Or The Bill, Casualty or Doctors!

Anyway, I noticed this character in Corrie this week but couldnt make my mind up if he has played previous characters in Corrie or has appeared in other soaps:-

From what I've seen of him so far I'm not at all keen, he just seems like a Fred Elliot 2. What on earth is he going to bring to the programme? The set of the bread shop looks totally unrealistic (for it's location) - if it were a Greggs or something it might actually be believable.

I think they over-did the Cilla screaming scenes this week, some of it's been teetering on the edge of being very silly, like a bad patch in the mid-90s which resulted in a new producer killing off Derek.

I think its a bit unrealistic that they have everything so close together on Corrie - they have the pub, corner shop, post office, garage, factory, chippy, hair salon, bookies, medical centre, cafe, butchers and now a bakery as well all on Coronation and Victoria street. Also most of the residents live in the same street that they work in, apart from Betty Turpin and Audrey Roberts.

It was better in the old days, and more realistic, they only had the Rovers and Corner Shop at each end of the street, and the factory/community centre the other side. The Kabin and Cafe were down on Rosamund Street, not far away really, just round the corner I think as Reet used to walk to work. Then they had Betterbuys which was in the town centre so quite a distance away.

It's unrealistic but it's probably vital for the show to work. Maybe back in the days this wasn't the case. But today viewers are wanting a lot more and for this to work Coronation Street needs all these many meeting places. The Rovers Returns is not longer the single place for the residents to meet up.

Not so sure, up here in Manchester within 1 minute's walk of my house there's 2 pubs, a post office, 3 takeaways, a chippie, somerfield, bookies, baker's, corner shop and cafe. Just a normal street too mind.

It's a sterotypical feature of every soap, everybody has enough time to have a cooked breakfast at Roy's Rolls, before walking to work, and then enough time to have a pint after work before teatime!

With more episodes it was a good idea to extend the set at Granada Studios to include Victoria Street, it allows many more varied spots for people to bump into each other and have a chat.

I still think there should be an entrance to a Metrolink tram station, with authentic Metrolink branding introduced just behind "Webster's Auto Centre" (!) to allow characters to catch the tram. Make a change from the authentic Bus Stop

It's even more unrealistic feature of Emmerdale where there's all those businesses operating in a small village in the middle of knowhere.

I think Coronation Street is probably the most accurate and has truly moved with the times.

EastEnders is still stuck in the eighties with it's market and laundrette, while if Emmerdale was a real village I'm sure the Post Office, Cafe and pub would have probably been boarded up by now!

Id have thought Emmerdale was the most accurate. As for Corrie well you dont have 8-10 different shops on a small back street. Like I said, better in the old days.

The News of the World is reporting that Dirty Dev will have an affair with factory girl Kelly this summer.

I cant believe the script writers would want to put Sunita through yet more misery. And would he really cheat on Sunita, after everything they have been through, with a slapper like Kelly? Rolling Eyes Time for some new ideas I think.

I was wondering when the Corrie bubble would begin to burst...

I doubt Dev would cheat after what theyve been through.

I love Corrie but I feel that there is too many cartoon characters coming in.

Wow, tonights episode was very good. I am currently loving the Sally storyline and we saw some great acting from Rosie. I had to love Sophie who seems to be getting cheekier every episode.

To Craig: '...and he thinks you look gay.'

I couldn't stop laughing for ages. I liked Jamie finding his mum as well and we've had no Cilla tonight (she's good, but there's only so much of here you can take). And of course comedy with Candice in the shop window. Overall, a very good episode. Very Happy

Yes it was good tonight, especially the final scene with Sally and Rita.

The storyline with Jamie seemed good as well, about time they gave him something to do. As for Danny and Leanne, that affair is realistic as its just the thing Leanne and Danny would do, but not Dev after all him and Sunita have been through.

Candice was very funny, felt a bit sorry for her in the pub though, didnt expect Audrey to take her back at the salon so quickly though.
