Apparently Martin Platt is to be written out of the series, according to people on Digital Spy forums. I hope this is true as he is so boring. The character has been there since 1985 so its time he went.

You could say the same about Ken Barlow!

So Martin is being written out then, it looks like he isn't getting back together with Gail then. The article says the door will be open for his return so it'll be more likely to be a back of cab type exit, rather than in a wooden box.

Thnak god Martin Platt's going. I thought I'd never leave. He is just one of those characters that I really can't watch. And the fact that he's always wearing denim irritates me even more.

I'd also like to disagree with a comment made about Wendi Peters. I think she's fantastic and that she portrays the character the way she is supposed to be portryaed, a common tart. So lay off!

But the difference is characters who have been there longer like Ken, Rita, Mike, Deirdre etc are still good characters and arent irritating like Martin is.

I agree about Martin, ive never liked him. I dont think ive forgiven him for upsetting Jenny in about 1989. Im also glad they arent going to get him and Gail back together, I couldnt think of anything more boring.

So an unexpected death in tonight's Corrie. Never mind Tommy Harris, poor Barney.
Let's remember him how he was;

That Keith is a bit of nutter isn't he.

Aww poor Barney, I liked Barney. Crying or Very sad Dont like this Keith though. And we have yet more tragedy to come what with Schmichael as well.

Of course, I hope he doesn't die though. This will be the first challenging (I say challenging) storyline for Chesney. Something different from him just being that cute lad who everybody loves but has a vile mother.

As long as he does not get him stuffed too.

So that'll be Heartbeat or The Royal then. Wink

Or The Bill, Casualty or Doctors!

Anyway, I noticed this character in Corrie this week but couldnt make my mind up if he has played previous characters in Corrie or has appeared in other soaps:-

He was the health inspector in Brookside, who moved in with Sinbad and Tinhead, and they suspected him of being a murderer. He later came back, and shut down the chippy.

Ah yes, that's where I recognise him from.

Didn't he turn out to be a fanatical fan of Accrington Stanley (or other Northern team) and that was the reason he was acting a bit odd when he first moved into the room with Sinbad and Co? I remember a scene where we was seen washing his hands (of red paint) but they all thought he was a murderer or something?

Ah the good ol' days of Brookside!
