ITV1 are showing a repeat of Wednesday night's edition, tomorrow (Friday 8th) at 2.35pm, where Royal Wedding coverage would have been.

Couldn't this extra timeslot been put to better use and show the episode where Ken and Dierdre married the first time round?

I wouldnt like it on 5 nights in a row, I look forward to Corrie more when there is a longer break between episodes (2 days instead of 1) as it is more of an event rather than a chore.

That is what we get with Emmerdale. Even though Corrie is fine at the moment, if they cut the fifth episode. Or maybe even cut two episodes, so then we have three a week. It would get higher ratings I think, and would be good, and improve the quality of the show enormously. As somebody said on here a while ago, Corrie is the Jewel in ITV's crown, and they need to re-think a few things.

I agree that less is more, I wonder how much padding will be in these extra episodes?.

It depends what you all padding, one persons padding is another person's light relief.

For example, that business with Fred falling down a hole, people who dislike Fred and only watch corrie to see people set fire to shops and murder their dads would have thought that was a load of rubbish, but proper corrie fans would see it as comedy which is what corrie does best.

Good idea. But ITV appear not to want to show old episodes for some reason. I have that episode from the Plus recordings, havent watched it for years though.

Comedy storylines Corrie does very well like the one with Fred. But others, like around the time of the Maya storyline, there was an awful lot of padding, like the dinner party at Dev's, Sean and Kelly from the factory, and it was very boring.

And im a long term Corrie fan, my earliest memories coming from 1986 but was too young to really appreciate the programme then, Ive hardly missed an episode since late 1988/1989 when I was about 8, and watched all of what Granada Plus showed so I stick with it through good and bad times.

I've watched Corrie since the Bet and Alec, Reg Holdsworth days. I agree that Corrie continues its Northern humour which is just brilliant for the soap.

I missed Wednesday's episode as (ironically) I saw Peter Kay at the Albert Hall. Can anyone recap what happened?

7 episodes of Corrie next week.

Sunday once, twice on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

It's the week where... highlight --> Tommy is exhumed, and when Ray is buried. <-- highlight

I'm so sick of ITV's scheduling.

It really pisses me off that Coronation Street is all it can do to get big ratings. 5 times a week is FAR too much as it is, 7 is just ridiculous.

As I posted in another thread, it should be like this:

Corrie: Mon, Weds -- 7.30pm
Emmerdale: Tues, Thurs - 7.30pm

Friday would depend on which soap has a bigger week in terms of storylines.

ITV are really going to find themselves in massive trouble if they don't stop relying on the soaps.
