Generally I'd say yes but in those adverts i'd say not particularly.
It seems to be standard practice that whenever one of those idents appears the announcer trails tommorow's Coronation Street, it's definally getting the full promo treatment

I did hear the Scottish announcer on ITV1 up here in the north say about Coronation Street and then about nudity coming up on the next programme (which I was forced to watch I may add).
Although a bit overkill I do like this Killer Katy thing, but I think it would have been a better idea to have different break bumpers than the ident and promo. Perhaps a close up of a blood stained spanner or whatever she hits him with.

I think they've gone about it the wrong way promoting it as Killer Katy - especially as it is not a premeditated act.
It would have been far more interesting if they'd gone at it from the angle of "Murder - who kills who?"
That way along with Katy and Tommy you can bring several more characters - including Martin, Kevin and Sally - into it and create a bit more of a mystery (even if we know who is going to kill who!).
After this week's episodes so far I think it be far more plausible for Sally to murder Tommy than Katy!

I agree, a who did it would be much better. I think ITV are going OTT with all these trails, idents and break bumpers for Killer Katy - are they that desperate to make sure the viewers tune in?
