Great episode tonight, much better than Monday's episodes. Nice to have a break from Martin/Katy and Shelly/Charlie. I liked the scenes at the Platts where the family met Sarah's new boyfriend, i was expecting her to go mad with Gail for phoning her boyfriends mobile phone when they were outside.

I also liked the scenes with Frankie and Leanne at the Baldwin's in tonights episode.

I saw those DVD's in Woolworths too, I bought the Emmerdale one a few weeks ago for about £2.99, the Corrie one I already had, not bad DVD's IMO.

Just wondering - do either of those DVDs have theme music worth recording? (perhaps on the main menus or something..)

Coronation Street Triumphs
Coronation Street has become the first soap to triumph at the South Bank Show Awards, which traditionally reward highbrow and groundbreaking culture.
The soap beat fellow ITV1 show Filthy Love and Channel 4's Shameless to win the best TV drama prize on Thursday.
Little Britain was named best comedy while Franz Ferdinand beat Morrissey and The Libertines to the music award.
Shane Meadows' Dead Man's Shoes picked up the best film award, beating Shaun of the Dead and My Summer of Love.
The two award ceremonies reflect the achievements the industry believes have been made in the last year.
Ex-Grange Hill star Amma Asante won the breakthrough award
In 2004, Coronation Street pulled away from its BBC One rival EastEnders in the ratings and dominated other TV awards.
Last year, the South Bank Award for best TV drama went to Steven Poliakoff's period piece The Lost Prince, while Bloody Sunday, about the 1972 killings in Northern Ireland, won in 2003.

I'm very happy that Corrie has been recognised by a real awards show, unlike the dire BBC's 2004 TV Moments.

Both DVD's have full opening credits and theme music. They also have interviews with Patsy Kensitt and Tom Lister on the Emmerdale DVD, and with Bradley Walsh and Debra Stevenson on the Corrie DVD.

Great News about Corrie winning an award, well done to them, lets hope this will be the first of many in 2005, All About Soap's current issue has voting forms for their awards and Corrie have been nominated in 7 of the 8 categories but I cant see them winning many.

I liked the scene tonight when Gail went to see Sally at work, you could tell by the look on her face that she has worked out what is going on between Sally and Ian.

That was a good scene, how obvious could Sally be, and I agree with you about the look on Gails face, even though it wouldn't have took a genius that them two were flirting like mad. Tommy and Angela are also starting to grow on me and it's a shame they'll be leaving in the circumstances they are, but should be good viewing.

Last night's closing scene with Maria and Tyrone was excellent, good to see a happy ending for a change Smile

I dont see them lasting long together, its obvious she doesnt really want him, their relationship has been far too on/off for too long IMO. Apparently the Duckworths are far from happy about their engagement.

Samia Ghadie asked Corrie producers for Maria and Tyrone to stay together, but this is a very bad story. Maria cheats on him. Maria is embarrased. Maria seeks sympathy, and gets engaged to Tyrone. How long will it be until she cheats again. I agree with you about them not lasting long together. She obviously doesn't love him, and he's just marrying her to stop her from playing away.

Poor old Tyrone!

The 'goth' storyline has been great! I could never see Eastenders pulling off such a story with the humour that Corrie has!

I totally agree, I always cringe when EastEnders try humour, they should stick to what they're good at, drama. Even though Corrie are masters at both! Very Happy
