I agree, they should have left her as dead after that fantastic episode, I usually find trials rather dull in soaps so what is the point of bring her back now?

I really think that Maya needs to be made dead. Most people I know already think that she's dead, and if she returns it'll be like Dirty Den's return on EastEnders. She has had her day, and why spoil the brilliant 'exit' that she's already had by bringing her back?

Ah, but Corrie trials don't have to be dull.

Well she hasnt been mentioned for a while, as far as we know she is either in hospital after being badly injured after that lorry crashed into her car, or she is in prison. Dont see how people could claim she was back from the dead when the last we heard about her was that she was badly injured NOT dead.
I quite like trials in soaps, as long as they dont drag on and on, Deidre's trial was brilliant.

They should find her innocent and then she should return to Coronation Street to live - imagine that! She's a great character!
A good first episode tonight, poor Shelly though, Charlie really is starting to be controlling. Nice to here Sally Webster mention Hilda Ogden in tonights episode, glad she hasnt forgotton her, what with her being a snob atm.
And in the second episode tonight we get to see the new Adam Barlow for the first time, lets hope he can act!

yes - D's trial was excellent - but only because we knew she didn't do it!
I just dread them finding her innocent in some implausable plot twist and then we have yet another double episode where she finally dies....

Wasn't tonight's second Corrie brilliant? I found it not just an episode but kind of a celebration of the success Corrie has had this year. Lots of good character writing, focusing on popular characters of 2004 like Chesney. Also lots of reminders about the year's storylines including Rita ending up in court, Todd and Sarah etc.
A bit like the live episode really where Ken made his speech at the end, addressing the street but also addressing the viewers.
I'm not normally one to say this, but squashing the credits when there were those fireworks going on was a bad move.

Tonights two episodes just show that we don't need drama to enjoy a good episode of Corrie! I didn't understand what Adam barlow was saying at timess, but let's just put that down to the music in the pub. We also got to see evil Charlie make Shelly feel very small, and the the irony comes in by saying she was too fat. Poor Shelly, she's beautiful just the way she is, and now I heard shes having a diet in real life so she can slim down for her Shellys storyline. Nice ending and a really nice message with Happy New Year from Coronation Street, EastEnders didn't even bother, and was really nice when it the camera went round on the characters sing Auld Lang Syne. Great Episode Corrie!

Possibly the funniest thing about the whole storyline was when Deirdre left prison and saw Jon Lindsay on his way in there, despite the fact it was a women's prison!
