Ah ha, the Valentine's Day return must be Arrow Ray Langton - I know there was a rumour that Arrow Jon Lindsay was also due to return but I've a feeling it's the first character I mentioned.

And does anyone have an idea which character will get a spin-off series? Will it be another dreaded "soap bubble" or a proper series, the first Corrie spin-off since 1964?

I believe that it's Todd Grimshaw who will be in the spinoff, and I really don't want Kate Ford to leave! Sad

Corrie (and Emmerdale to an extent) have made some great promotions!

Corrie does do promotions great, the very effective ones being the Richard Hillman promo and Mayas Mad Monday promo, but is this one setting us up for a whimper of a storyline?

I was hoping with Karen leaving Steve & Tracy would take a back seat for a while...but obviously not. I hope the rumors of Kate Ford leaving to have a go at becoming a "Hollywood" actress are true. Tracy's a great character but she's been over-used. She's hardly been off our screens since she arrived 2 years ago. Drifting out of one major story line straight into another. Either give her a rest or let her go.

Massive story coming up, I found this on Digital Spy, highlight to read!

Katy Harris will commit suicide after stabbing her dad Tommy to death in an upcoming storyline, the Daily Star claims today.

As revealed last month, the pair become involved in a huge row after Katy announces she is expecting the baby of older lover Martin Platt. At the height of the argument, Katy grabs a kitchen knife and rams it into Tommy's chest.

Now, in a new twist, Katy - played by Lucy-Jo Hudson - will make an attempt on her own life after police close in on the truth behind the incident. The teenager initially appears to be recovering but "finally dies from complications."

The scenes will be shown in April.

Sounds a bit too much, I mean, Brookie did this, trying OTT storylines one after the other, we've just recovered from Mad Maya, is this too soon?

I agree it does sound a bit OTT - it might be good though, and if this isnt happening until April there will be a gap of around 5 months from Mad Maya.

I hope there are no murders/deaths/weddings next year in Weatherfield.

This year has been great but you can have too much of a good thing and they need to possibly only have one or two(maximum) major storylines a year!

Otherwise Brookside beckons...............

PLANS to bring back Corrie's Mad Maya have been put on hold - because of coke shame actor Jimmi Harkishin.
Scriptwriters were hoping bunny boiler Maya, played by Sasha Behar, could return for a trial in the spring.

She would face charges of arson after burning down flats and shops belonging to her ex, Dev Alahan, played by Jimmi.

But now soap bosses are faced with a difficult decision after actor Jimmi, 45, was caught using cocaine earlier this month. He has been given indefinite leave to have therapy, forcing writers to rethink.

An ITV insider said: "It would look odd if Maya had a trial and Dev was nowhere to be seen."

But Coronation Street series producer Tony Wood insisted he would still like to run the story. He said: "Maya's a fantastic character. So I don't think we've seen the last of her."

Scriptwriters also had to scrap a story about Dev selling Streetcars to Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson). The insider said: "It was to be a way of getting Steve back on his feet after Karen (Suranne Jones) leaving.

"But because Dev left almost immediately, we couldn't film the necessary scenes for that to happen. So we've had to scrap it."

Im glad that Maya might be returning, she is a great character. Looks like Dev has left on screen already then.
