In addition I'm just so tired of seeing soap murderers just getting killed off rather than them actually following the story through and taking it to trial and beyond. This storyline especially would have made a great courtroom drama but it looks like they're pinning it on a dead guy when the real culprit is already dead. I guess they may milk it a bit and put David or Sarah on trial (probably arrested at the funeral), but that won't be anywhere near as effective as putting the known perpetrator on trial, with viewers probably wanting her to get away with it.
I think the media kept describing it as a first but we all know that it isnt even a first in Corrie let alone soap as in 1989 Brian was stabbed. This was made reference to by Gail in the second episode last night. Some great writing there and Helen Worth was fantastic.
Last nights second epsode was great and easily the best episode of Corrie in the last 2 years. I liked it that the entire episode focussed on Kylie's death. I half expected them to switch back to Caz and Kate, which whilst I dont think that is a bad storyline i dont think it would have been right to do that. So well done to Corrie for that.
I never saw Kylie as a murderer to be honest. Callum was vile and was going to kill Sarah so it was self defence and then they panic and covered it up. I never saw Kylie as a killer like Richard Hillman or John Stape for example.
I didn't think yesterday's Corrie was a particularly good exit storyline. It seemed rather rushed for Paula Lane (as for Ryan Thomas) a few weeks before.
Dramatic licence aside, someone stabbed in the heart (or lung) isn't realistically able to conduct a 21 minute 'deathbed dialogue' (despite the occasional gasps for air), so credulity was lost after the first few minutes.
If the producers wanted to boost viewing figures by leaking an exit, but not the actual outcome, they could have asked for a storyline that played out the concept of a move to the Caribbean a lot better. Perhaps imply a change of mind by David as the possible outcome, and then produce the dramatic death exit instead. It would have left the viewer guessing.
However, they allowed media pictures to be released of David over a coffin, which really closed down many storyline options.
Not well handled at all, and not a good day to broadcast it, when many were probably already emotionally drained by news happening in the real world.

Then perhaps she wasn't stabbed in the heart or lung?
Then perhaps she wasn't stabbed in the heart or lung?
Well, that scenario makes even LESS sense.
The programme made out that she was stabbed in the upper right chest, which would imply a stab to the heart, with possible puncture of the lung (I watch too much Holby City).
I am uncertain of any other vital organs in that area.
You don't need to damage the vital organs to stab someone to death (and I thought it looked more like she was stabbed under the ribs) - just cut an artery badly enough and they can bleed out, which is what I assumed was happening given Kylie's rather pale look. Perhaps in reality you might expect to see a lot more blood, but it was pre-watershed.
You want to watch more Casualty, all the stabbings go to the E.D.
