One of the real issues with it, that's the case with far too many soap storylines, is that it's gone on for too long. Far too long. And it's not even over yet, and god knows how much is left to run.

Wow I stopped watching last year because of storylines like that. Is Phelen really still in it? How tedious.

He's still in it, and he's had Andy locked up in a cellar for months. Yes, it's beyond tedious.

It's one of those things that makes you wish they'd cut it back an episode, not added an extra one.

It's strange seeing the Rovers in pre-86 episodes and wondering how the hell the Select fitted in there, it should have extended all across Rosamund Street and then some considering how big it was. After the fire when they supposedly knocked all three bars into one it was still only the same size as the combined public & snug, the space the select was in just vanished!

Even then it's still too big for the building, how does the living room and kitchen fit into the downstairs? And of course there's the toilets that should be in Ken's front room.

When was the last time we show the back room?

The TARDIS-like qualities of the Rovers became even more pronounced a few years ago when they started showing the upstairs living quarters, which included a large living room/kitchen, and apparently half a dozen bedrooms to accommodate all the residents at the time.

They eventually stopped using those sets, and returned to having scenes in the "back room" instead, which logically should be in Rosamund Street, with the kitchen inside "For Your Fries Only".

The upstairs did magically gain an extra window on the move to Mediacity as well.

According to Corrie.net:
Quote:
The three-bar system remained in operation until that fateful night in June 1986 when the Rovers was gutted by fire.

The pub was then completely refurbished by the brewery and the three bars were knocked into one large one.

That was no less believable than Ashley & Maxine's stairs moving to the opposite side of the room overnight, without either of them actually commenting on it.

That's not been there since the fire in 1986. I think the last time it was seen was Alf & Audrey's wedding in 1985.
