Coronation Street

Pretty sure it is - think Big Brother was sponsored by a skincare company for at least one series and had their products in the house. And when Gogglebox was sponsored by a sofa company many of the households seemed to have new sofas.

Happened with McCains on Emmerdale. At least I presume it was product placement, seeing as every bus had a McCains advert and their products were very prominent in the shop.

i was actually slightly disappointed when they announced Cadbury as the first sponsor, as press reports suggested it was going to be Boddingtons beer. Their ‘cream of Manchester’ slogan at the time just seemed the perfect fit and a bit edgier than the chocolate Corrie we eventually got for years and years.

How about Cazoo, or Purple Bricks, Go Compare, Money supermarket, Just Eat, or how about Asda with that annoying bloke

Thought this might be a bit of fun for Corrie fans, this came up on today's Pointless:


They were looking for any surname by which any of the above characters are known - married, maiden or otherwise. No cut off date was given, but presumably up to some point in 2019.

I noticed that one of the episodes either yesterday or today on ITV3, was the first to be produced by Brian Park. So it’s safe to expect some of the infamous changes within the Street to be on ITV3 soon.

There’s easily a good few soap rounds you could have there... name any of Ken Barlow’s girlfriends (lots of pointless answers you could have had) name any person who has worked behind the bar in the rovers return.
For Emmerdale name any Dingle (cue 100’s of answers)

BritBox has added a number of classic episodes of Corrie today, as well as some introductions from the cast. They’ve also added some of the recent documentaries and The Road to Coronation Street today too.

Quite amusing to see both Summer and Todd recognising each other straight away when they've both had head changes.

The new Summer seems a fair bit older than the last one as well. She's as tall as Paul now.

Apparently there will be some classic episodes shown at 10pm on ITV3 during anniversary week including the first episode and the live episodes from 2000 and 2010. As well as this we have special shows on the Monday and Wednesday to celebrate 60 years as well as the usual 6 episodes which ive heard will be 3 x 1 hour.

Sounds like a good week.
