thought it was funny though when Owen called him John about 10 times Very Happy

They were so obviously doing it on purpose - after about the 8th time it became a bit unfunny! Laughing

I didn't find it funny the first time, but increasingly annoying as it was repeated!

It's a terrible storyline, obviously another one I'm going to have to fast-forward through if it's being given prominence again. Last night's two episodes had about 10 minutes of worthy viewing between them.

I suppose they could be working on the principle that if you run down the quality before December, the 50th anniversary episodes will seem even better!

Loving Coronation Street at the moment and picking up each week as it goes along.

Chewy picked up on the the tram at the corner shop - there are two carriages that hit the street, the first carriage hits the corner shop, with the second carriage swinging into the Kabin.

The Metrolink vehicles don't have separate carriages, unlike regular trains. Each LRV is an articulated unit. It appears
that the LRV involved somehow splits in two ... one section wrecks The Kabin the other destroys Dev's Corner Shop.

One question that comes to mind ... what exactly causes that huge explosion? I'm thinking the most likely cause is
that a kitchen is installed in the bar (assuming Nick wants to offer more than fancy drinks) but a case of shoddy
workmanship causes a gas leak which leads to the explosion, ultimately causing the tram to derail and crash.

I think Leanne did mention food would be served, so Cieran will probably be the chef lol

Ah i see, well who ever does the pictures at ITV has it wrong then Very Happy - "And as these sneak preview shots show the front of the tram crashes into Dev Alahan`s Corner shop whilst the second carriage swings round into the Kabin."

Articulated Unit Vehicles still have separate carriages, they just share some axles between units.

They can still disintegrate into their component units as easily as any other tram. Shocked

Great to see this storyline is bringing the best out of forum members - and their anoraks.

It'd be funny weird if I ever saw half a tram pulling into the stop at Whitefield, and another half going the other way!
They do double up during certain times of the day, with two LRVs joined together to carry more passengers.

I assume imagine the LRVs themselves would only ever be split down the middle for maintenance and/or repairs.

Just a small question... I was under the impression that the explosion would rock the entire viaduct structure and it would collapse completely. So why in the picture does it not appear to have happened? Only the top of the viaduct is shown to be damaged.

I suppose only the tracks at the top would be affected (thus the tram swerving off the top and into the street), but with all this talk of green screening and CGI and "We're about to see Weatherfield" (from Phil Collinson, no less), I thought we'd see Jubilee Terrace for the first time since the late 1960s! Perhaps I should assume less...

Well from the pics the tram is currently leaning on a crumbling viaduct, and trams aren't light :p

I think the John/Colin storyline is so far-fetched and daft, it's good-- in terms of comedy value. On a more serious note, I think it's lovely idea what they are doing for Jack's final storyline, reflects his best attributes as a character.

Is it me, or does Jeremy Kyle seem to be getting frequent mentions on Coro recently? Laughing

A HQ pic of the tram, if you zoom in, you can see a pair of feet inside - creepy!
