I think they mean the Joinery's roof lol,
I wonder what will take the Corner Shop's place

Speaking of the Corner Shop, it's disappearance will make the titles out of date again

You're right about the spoilers, I'll just tag them though, until we know everyone is okay with them :p

I was going to say , how can they be related!

Will the corner shop not be coming back then , i was under the impression it would just be rebuilt. Where did you get that info from? Surely they'll have to rebuild - where will Norris get his gosspi from! Laughing

Well the titles are blurry so you cant see anything , mabye that was the idea! Laughing I'm sure I read that the titles were only for the 50th Anniversary year? So there might be an update next year.

Wonder if this new part of the set they were building will have a "co-operative food"?? or maybe Dev moves his shop their or even into Ashleys old shop after he goes.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were only for the 50th year, they did have that kind of feel to them

I don't know if it will be back, The Kabin will most likely be repaired, but from the looks of it, the Corner Shop will be completely obliterated

Good idea DJ Dave, I've been wondering what will happen to the butchers

The Kabin HAS to be repaired really, scenes in their are some of the funniest in the show.

Where the corner shop is will obvioulsy be rebuilt, i should think, but mabye something else will go there. Because of the various people leaving, the butchers may close etc.

Whilst there've got to change everything. There've got to be careful, not to lose the Corrie charm.

DJ Dave, when you say Co-op food - do you mean for product placement? As that should be coming in next year.

I think they should put something different there, it gives them a chance to make the street look a little more up to date, they should start using Viaduct Street too, I think it's great the street if finally getting a shake up, weird to think the Corner Shop that has been there for 50 years will be gone

That's what I was sort of saying.

It's obvioulsy a good time to shake things up a bit. But because things such as the corner shop, as you say, have been their for so long it's hard to get red of them.

Personally I don't think a shake-up for the Corner Shop is a bad idea at all. It looks terrible, inside and out! (And has done for some years now.) But I think some form of shop should remain, be it in the Street's traditional "Corner Shop" form or in another. Perhaps Dev can sell the Alahan shops to Freshco's!

To be honest I'm a bit confused as to the complete redevelopment of the Corner Shop and Kabin buildings on the current set as - if the strong rumours are confirmed at some point - Granada will be upping sticks and moving to MediaCity within a year or two and developing a new "backlot".

(In response to Chewy: I agree it'd be great if Viaduct Street was used more, but it's very difficult to do that with the current set. Only one wall spanning a few metres passes for that street at the moment... if the move to MediaCity does happen then I hope they take the opportunity to extend it to include more arches and possibly some houses. There were quite a lot of references in scripts from about twenty to thirty years ago about "so-and-so" who "lived on Viaduct Street" so it'd be good to see houses on that road, either on the tram line side or on the other side of the road.)

That's true, I noticed the Flying Horse has been mentioned quite a lot, tonight Leanne mentioned she couldn't be bothered walking all the way around to the Flying Horse (it's on the other side of the viaduct isnt it?)

I think if the Corner shop is rebuilt, they should make it fit in a bit more, it's funny, its only 6 years since the shop got a big makeover, and its already changing again xD

It feels much, much longer than six years...! I liked the mention of the Flying Horse. That's another one of those Weatherfield places they stopped referencing for a while a few years ago, for some odd reason.

By the way - just came across this link via an article from the Mirror. I presume this site has just launched? Either way I believe voting opens on Saturday:

Didn't Graeme say that Ashley had put the butchers up for sale anyway?

The Flying Horse has always been mentioned quite often since the 1960s! Its supposed to be a few streets away from Coronation St but they have never said exactly where it is I dont think. We have also seen the Flying House a few times but not in recent years.

We did see it on Tyrone's stag night last year

The MEN have a bigger version of the set pic
