As I've never watched Corrie (although I did enjoy the BBC Four drama about the starting of it) can someone explain how a tram crashing (a tram which uses over head power lines) could cause an explosion that massive?

Does it land on a characters secret petrol smuggling lock-up storage facility, or something?

Well not sure of the omplete way it happens obvioulsy, but I think it's something along the lines of basically the explosion ( in the joinery bar underneath) that will explode causing the tram to crash. I think there've had to do it that way I.e as the tram people wouldn't have anything to do with it otherwise, if the tram company would be seen as being at fault.

When it was announced that the tram was not to be the cause of the incident, I took that to mean that the viaduct structure was already weak - hence it collapsing, causing an explosion in the bar and then send the tram into the street. Is it definite that an explosion in the bar will cause the whole thing to come down, and not the other way round...?

(As an aside: episode descriptions on the net refer to the new bar as "Viaduct", not "The Joinery". Is the "Viaduct" name an error? We've already seen "The Joinery" signage up on the front. Although I do prefer the "Viaduct" name - it is a pretty silly idea to have the new business named after the previous business - you might as well have called it "Jim's" or "Bike" and be done with it. Laughing )

It definitely seems to be explosion > collapse > crash

I think the name "The Joinery" suits it, but I like the "The Viaduct" too xD

funny that they have gone to such lengths to hide the set from surounding buildings and somebody flys over a takes a pic anyway

so no demolitions yet

the Peacocks would only be affected if the tram damages their house as well as the shop

Well here it is, Coronation Street has finally had a major change for the first time in around 20 years

I thought they must have been doing it gradually - so the CGI will fill in the rest.
Is anyone registered on that site - so we can see them bigger? Smile
Also, do we need to still use spoliers, as it's really widely known - what do people think?

I think the buildings damaged will in fact be rebuilt in a "stunt friendly" way over the next week or so, I'm hoping a newspaper will pick up these pics

On the spoiler topic - I'm not sure, some people might not want to know the exact details

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Will be intresting to see. Just wish we could see them clearer. I suppose the papers will have some in the next few days.

On the spoliers - it's just that the sub titles even warns that there are pic's - so if people don't want to know, they should come on this thread! Laughing

I think they mean the Joinery's roof lol,
I wonder what will take the Corner Shop's place

Speaking of the Corner Shop, it's disappearance will make the titles out of date again

You're right about the spoilers, I'll just tag them though, until we know everyone is okay with them :p
