They said they spent £1m on the siege, but I can believe £1m for the tram crash due to the scale of it

I'll wait until I see it.

if they are going to open up weatherfield after the tram crash I guess they will be using some form of green screen CGI where the viaduct used to be

that would make every episode expensive

it's realy interesting and exciting finding out what is to come, lets hope no doze brain tabloid bod leaks it all out and gets it totally wrong like when they factory was demolished it was reported the whole street was coming down, even having the residents celebrating in the pub whilst workmen start demolishing the shop (like you would start demolishing one end of a terrace whilst the other end is occupied Rolling Eyes )

interesting story with Izzy / Garry wonder if
she gets pregnanst

Is she or he high profile enough for that?

do they have to be high profile to get a storyline

I like the way Izzy is just another character and not just there for a disabilty related storylines, although how the heck she gets in and out of the factory is a complete mystery Confused

By the way, putting Deirdre in Gail's old job - Corrie genius. I was laughing so much during that scene. And Becky and Betty talking about Gail later on, just brilliant.

This type of thing is what makes Corrie so good.

What does everyone think the 50th anniversary episode will get in terms of ratings? On one forum I visit they are hoping for 20 million but I think that's a lot to ask for these days. Id expect around 14 million.

The Eastenders episode got 14 million viewers so I would imagine it will be about the same, perhaps a little more, no more than 16 million though.

What night is it going to be shown? The 40th live show was on a Friday and as I recall got 20 million viewers. It's strange how things have changed in a decade!

Well the 9th December falls on a Thursday so I assume it will be that date the live episode will be broadcast. For the 40th the anniversary was on a Saturday but they broadcast the live episode on Friday 8th.

Well im a regular on looking on the ratings front. From the site I visit ( may be the same one! )

I think the high figures come from Eastenders 25th Live episode which had an overnight rating average of 14.91m, peaking at 16.58m.

So if it can get an where near that or more it will fantastic. As it will beat EE as top rating non sport programme of 2010. Well apart from the X Factor Final beating it a few days later, no doubt.

I think similar figures to EE might be reachable. Whilst EE had so much press coverage, look how much Corrie has had so far this year - and were still 2 1/2 months away.

I still think the Tram Crash will be on the actual anniversary, as the live is suppose to the aftermath. I think a live episode will end the week on a "event". Would seem a bit strange to have say Wednesday Tram Crash, Thursday Live and Friday just a pre recorded episode. And i get the impression the Live episode was always more of an afterthought, with the Crash taking centre stage.

I THINK
I need to turn the caps lock off Embarassed

I think corry are really giving themselves an extra headache with a live episode especially around destruction of buildings. In December they will be filming February episodes so how will they bring back what will then be demolished buildings, I just think it will play merry hell with the continuity as you can't demolished something twice and get every bit of brick and plaster in the same places

the only way round it is to not have outdoor scenes in the live episode

well a lot will be GGI I imagine on the Crash episode, so the buildings may not actually collapse as such and I also read that there will be CGI in the Live Episode ( although whether that's true or not).

Also I said the other week about In December they will be filming February episodes i.e 6/8 weeks in advance like normal - but someone on here said that in Jan, they will only be 2 weeks ahead.

I do agree that having a Live episode will be difficult. It's not like the 40th Live that not much "big" happened, but this will follow a big stunt with CGI.
