Bigger version of the photo here, some of the back row looks suspiciously photoshopped.

Is Rula Lenska still part of the cast then ?

Great photo for the Corrie fans. I see Nick was superimposed in the photo and probably a few others.

Getting excited now for the anniversary.

Thats a great cast photo. Also nice to see the original cast photo again.

I think Rula is recurring at the moment - will probably come and go.

Me too.

I think Lloyd was superimposed as well, they were probably ill or on-leave, many reasons but fantastic photo all the same!

Over the course of two hour-long shows on ITV1 this December we'll tell the stories behind the 50 iconic storylines that have helped define the contribution that Coronation Street has made to British television.

The comedy classics, the murders, the love affairs, the dramatic exits, the unforgettable characters and the real life issues that grabbed the headlines...they are all here - and more - in this countdown of Coronation Street's 50 greatest moments as cast, past and present, and the writers, producers and directors, tell us how these moments came to our screens.

The 50 moments have been chosen by a distinguished panel, including creator Tony Warren and William Roache. For the first time, ITV is asking the fans to get directly involved with The Nation’s Street and vote to determine their order of the Top 50 moments. There is a 100 page press release about the 50th anniversary. Loads of detail in there, all the births, deaths etc.

http://www.itv.com/presscentre/presspacks/coronationstreet50th/default.html

There will be a 50th anniversary souvenir magazine, book, DVD's, an art exhibition, Corrie Nation - the interactive game, the Corrie play etc.

not much then !! Laughing

Plus specially commissioned Royal Mint anniversary medals, greetings cards, limited edition prints, an official Coronation Street jigsaw, Rovers Return Dartboard, Monopoly and a 50th anniversary diamond charm bracelet. Laughing

Also the Corrie play "Due to ongoing popular demand the play" is getting a UK tour in 2011.

The TV special's sound good too!

One thing I think is wrong from the press release - I thought Kieran Roberts was now higher at ITV - says his "Executive Producer Kieran Roberts" - I thought that was Phil Collinson. As im sure that Kim Crowther was Ex Producer.

Keiran is the Exec Producer, but Phil is the producer, and has the hands-on role

Phil confirmed that the tram will hit the Kabin and Corner Shop, also that we will be about to see 'Weatherfield'

interesting pic of the whole cast

didn't realise Freddie Peacock was played by the twin brothers of Benjamin Berisford who plays Josh (thought they looked alike)

which in hindsight is daft to have Joshua and Freddie looking like brothers as they aren't even related and have different parents Confused

no Max (Harry McDermott), Connie or baby Jack

There's a lot of info and some high quality images (reset image sizes!) in that press pack document. Fascinating stuff.

Kieran is Executive Producer, and Phil is Producer.

Phil is essentially the man who runs the show. Kieran oversees everything but he has other responsibilities as he's also Controller of Drama at ITV Studios - he recently produced The Road to Coronation Street.

Yeah I thought Kieran was Controller of Drama at ITV Studios or something like that. Just though Phil was Ex Producer not just Producer.

Justing looking at the credits on ITV Player, I think I was mistaken because it has "Executive Producer Kieran Roberts" then "Producer - Phil C" I must have been thinking Ex Producer comes last on the credits! Very Happy

Also - like this photo. 2 Guinness World Records for being the longest running soap and for William Roache for the world's longest-serving soap actor.

A couple of intresting things from the BBC report:

As well as creating the explosive scenes, special effects will be used to show the rest of the fictional Manchester borough of Weatherfield for the first time, Mr Collinson revealed.

"The special effects work we'll do isn't just about crashing the tram," he explained. "We're going to see Coronation Street in the context of the wider world.

(PC)"So we're going to have great big wide shots that show you the rest of Weatherfield. Life has begun and ended at the top and bottom of the street, but for the first time we're going to see the wider world."
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-11409278

and "The show will also feature a live episode, which will portray the aftermath of the tram crash."
So I expect the live one to be on the Friday 10th and the crash on the actual anniverasry ( Thursday 9th).
