Wasn't Audrey's birthday months ago? Lol

I think our friend BBC World is from abroad and therefore is some months of episodes behind.

Ah, okay lol :p

Looks pretty damn good, I noticed they used part of Victoria Street lol

Oh... my... God. It looks superb... I truly can't wait for this. Only four days to go! And Daran Little as the writer is just the icing on the cake, isn't it?[/quote]

It looks to be the best drama I've seen in quite a while, all the actors sound fantastic and it looks authentically 1960s too (though...I only know what 60's looks like via TV lol)

Lynda Baron as Vi Carson.. almost spot on there.

Couldn't agree more. This looks awesome. Jessie Wallace has the voice of Patricia Phoenix down to a tee as well.

Rachel Leskovac may be performing a Bet Lynch tribute on Corrie: The Musical album.

The actress, who plays hairdresser Natasha Blakeman in Coronation Street, revealed she would be singing a number of tracks on the forthcoming album, including the homage to the iconic Rovers landlady, in celebration of the ITV soap's 50th anniversary.

"I'll be doing an homage to Bet Lynch - I'm going to be doing a couple of songs," she said.

Thinking about her upcoming performance gives Rachel, who trod the stage boards in musical Spend Spend Spend in 1999, butterflies.

"Spend Spend Spend was my big break, but it's been a while since I've done anything. I'm nervous," she admitted.

The all-singing, all-dancing production of Corrie: The Musical is expected to launch in Manchester before heading to London for a further run. Composer Trisha Ward has been working on the songs.

"Corrie: The Musical isn't happening until next year, but they are recording the album with some Corrie stars and other people to tie in the with 50th," Rachel revealed.

"There's a duet with Elsie Tanner, saying He's My Man, so they're fighting over a man. It's all brand new material from the musical. There are quite a few Corrie stars involved," she added.

Oh dear. They really are milking this aren't they? Confused

Perhaps it's my general aversion to musicals, but I can't see the connection with a soap, to be honest.

I'd describe myself as a Corrie fan of many years standing, but I won't be buying any of this anniversary tat.

What about Acorn Antiques the musical Laughing ?

Ironic that AA spoofed soap operas, now Coronation St is following the lead of AA!

It's a disgrace that this isn't on ITV. Would have been perfect to celebrate the 50th.

Given its run time I wouldn't be surprised if it turns up on ITV3 at some point, maybe even for the anniversary.
