It seems that Deirdre is becoming more and more like her mother Blanche these days. Good to see Ken's real life son's, Linus and James Roache, coming together to play his on screen son and grandson.
Bit underwhelmed by tonights Corrie, it didn't quite match up to the other episodes that have been shown lately
Agreed.
I know why they've done it, but I'm finding Ken's lost son storyline somewhat dull. Only made better by Deirdries barbed comments.
It's not quite that, what's annoying me is the look of the episodes and the feel, it all felt quite rushed and the birth was way too stretched out. Corrie has looked quite cinematic lately and they have made use of close ups to build tension, tonights episodes just used basic shots

she seems to be filling in for Blanche, wonder if these stories were written when blanche was still alive as the stories are planned nearly a year ahead
I think Blanche is what held Ken and Dreary together
I'd agree with that. Blanche was typically caustic about Deirdre's other blokes, but you could tell she had a grudging respect for Ken-- I think her leaving him the Maeve Binchy novels was sign of that!
Breakbumper font continues to change between two sizes on an episode by episode basis.
Sunday's hourlong had the bigger font, while Monday and Thursday's episodes had the smaller font again.
I hope they keep the smaller one, as it's far better and matches the size of the opening title screen.
Perhaps it's just my TV but some of the breakbumpers are very bright and reduce the legibility of the Coronation Street text. Has anyone else found this?
Looks like they're sticking with the new end of part 1 music and closing theme. I think we're all more used to it now but I still preferred the previous music. Love the new titles and font though.
