A series link won't kick in until the programme has been broadcasted therefore - it may not pick up the next episode at all, but I wouldn't expect it pick it up until the time that it was due to air has passed (my guess).

In theory, tomorrow's episode should be today's episode just postponed by 24 hours so the series link (which had set a recording for 9pm tonight before they postponed it) should have just moved to 9pm tomorrow. I haven't touched it, so I will see what happens later on this evening or tomorrow.

At this stage, it looks like they have cancelled the episode that was on the EPG rather than postponed it.

I cant see Corrie being shown on Saturday. Sunday would be more likely if they have a slot they can easily fit it into.

I wonder if ITV will cancel Corrie tomorrow and Friday as well as a few days later is still very soon to be showing this type of material given todays events.

Soccer Aid is on all night on Sunday so that is a non starter.

They won't drop the whole week's episodes, just todays to distance themsleves sufficiently from any complaints.

Depending on public opinion, the rest of the week could be moved back.

I think it is too early to say. It will depend on what is happening in the news tomorrow. The episode hasn't been dropped (despite what the EPG says) it has just been postponed, maybe by 24 hours, maybe more.

I'll be shocked if its shown on Saturday.

Its shouldnt be about whether they get complaints its about showing respect - they were right to drop it for that reason if for nothing else. But yes people would have complained had they shown it.

I doubt tonights episode will be axed, it may be re-edited to just have the audio of a gunshot and not showing Tony pulling the trigger, but they wont cancel it

I don't think ITV have come to a decision on when it will be aired yet, that's all

So, what are TV3 in Ireland showing instead of Coronation Street then?

Edit : I got an answer from another source. Apparently they are showing Goodbye Blanche.

I dont think they should axe the episode, re-edit it perhaps, but just not show it for a few days out of respect.

Right call - and the 7.30pm slot next Wednesday is free should they not find a slot by then.

Would this be the first time an episode has been pulled due to similarities with a current news event (rather than being pulled due to scheduling reasons to cover such events)?

I wonder how long it'll be before a paper claims "Cumbrian killer got idea from Corrie plot". It'll be interesting to see how the extra episode is scheduled in as it may need a post-watershed slot, rather than simply rolling over to Monday.
