I they're just for this season, not for the 50th anniversary shoot, I imagine all the cast will be in that

I know they're not 50th anniversary photographs. I was merely saying that it seems too sophisticated and glamorous, but perhaps this is done intentionally (and I suspect so, hence my use of "tongue in cheek") rather than an attempt to sex up the Street...!

EDIT:
The Daily Mail seems to think they are 50th anniversary shots, though they're clearly not: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1307567/Coronation-Street-From-gritty-glitzy-street-50.html

why are they saying that
Jack dies in the tram crash
like it is gospel, just because he's leaving, so are the peacock family and nobody is suggesting they get killed in the crash Rolling Eyes

Perhaps that's because we know how they're leaving?
i.e. Through this ridiculous Aadi storyline

RE: The Aadi storyline. Are we really expected to believe this child had to have such major surgery from a bump on the head from falling off a couch?

Last nights episodes were great.

I can see now that Corrie is undergoing somewhat of a renewal under the new producer, and happy to see the show celebrating it's 50th under Collinson's stewardship rather than Kim Crowther.

For all the hatchet man talk, it seems the show is in good hands.

For the case of the storyline, I'd be disappointed if that's the only reason.. perhaps he's got an underlying brain tumour or something.

I hear we're actually in the handover period now, because apparently Kim Crowther is still at the show...though she might be working on it in some other capacity now

Did anyone else notice on Friday the writer/director credits were in a smaller font, and so were the breakbumpers?

Wonder why, that's the second time they've changed it.

I know, looks modern and trendy, the street needs to be made a bit more modern I think, just a few updates to the set would do the trick, Victoria Street is a lot more modernised

Although everyone virtually knew - Confirmation from ITV that there will be a Live episode!
Quote:

After lots of speculation we can now confirm there will definitely be a LIVE episode of Coronation Street as part of the show's 50th anniversary celebrations.

Our producers are currently planning for the extra special episode to be transmitted later this year.

Our press officer said: "Everyone is very excited, if not to say a little nervous, about the prospect of a live episode but we felt it was fitting to go out live to the nation to celebrate such a prestigious anniversary."
