bit more realistic that number 7 colapsing without even touching numbers 5 and 9, let alone 3 and 11, or 1 and 13 come to that, the whole terrace would have colapsed
wonder if they want to ditch the viaduct as it plays havoc with filming at that end of the street, especially at Tina's where you can see the end of it in the background
which begs the question how the heck can a train come off it

It would be a bit tricky to get rid of the viaduct, seeing as it hides Stage One behind it.

I think they will definitely use the accident to correct some of the issues with the set, they most likely will just make it a big solid wall, instead of having a shop underneath it

Using that logic I think it's about time another plane dropped on Emmerdale.
There's quite a difference between 16 years (plane crash) and 43 years (train crash)
Not to mention the original take on it didn't do it justice, it was the '60's they, Corrie was still filmed inside a studio, the original disaster consisted of a few bangs heard from the Rovers, with everyone running out to find the train crashed
It still happened! Presumably they're going to have to acknowledge lightning strikes twice.....or gloss over it.
I like this, of course people will complain, saying it was done in the 1960's, but a lot of people wasn't alive then!

There will probably be a comment about it in the show, I'm looking at the storyline as less of a copy and more of a homage to it
Plus this storyline will be different, with the tram actually hitting the street xD

What do you mean going to waste? They're still used, the new ones are extras, not replacements. I'd have thought they might have used 2001 seeing as it's knackered anyway.
lol sorry I'm not Manchester tram literate...I'm more Blackpool tram literate, seeing as I live right next to the tracks
I assumed they rolled out these new ones to replace the old ones
It makes sense really, since they'll only be going to waste now

Tram "2001" was brought into service in 1999 primarily to run on the then new Salford Quays - Eccles line, while
tram "1001" was one of the original 26 LRV's from when the Metrolink first opened up in Spring 1992. I'd have
thought "1001" would be the more knackered of the two, since it's been in use for a little over 18 years now.
Given that the original batch of Metrolink trams cost around £1 million each, I'm surprised they'd be using one
of these for the stunt regardless of its age. Surely it'd cost less to construct a non-working model of a tram,
instead of permanently decommissioning an existing tram, and wrecking it for the sake of the ratings?
