Although i knew he was on ,didn't get to catch the This Morning interview so glad its on the site.

I do hope the story is true - they need a big stunt for the 50th and this seems a bit different than normal than something like a fire or explosion for example. And the story does seem a bit more reliable with with an apparent quote from PC and the people who are going to do the Special effects. And the apparent special effects people have worked on Doctor Who.

With the speculation of who dies it might at least match the speculation of the EE's "Who killed Archie" storyline.

Although someone posted about Phil C saying he would spread fake storylines and i although it will get the show publicity i dont see why he'd realese te storyline this early.

Also I think they need to mabye introduce the tram in a different storyline before hand as apart from the titles you never see it so would seem a bit like "I've never noticed the tram" to many people.

Also the article suggests "many of its famous residents killed" I think they really need to at least kill a 2/3 significant characters. As with the Tony storyline it was only realy Tony and the henchmen it was a bit of a let down. Perhaps it could be Claire & Ashley's exit ( although there was a story in the paper that the exit was something to do with child abuse) Perhaps even Jack or even Molly? With quite a few exits for other reasons it would be easier to keep it under wraps.

Edit: I think it has to be true - it's even on the Corrie website. I suppose the press are only going to find out the storyline for the 50th so it's better to tell them the storyline and let them specualte who's going to get killed for the next 6 months!

It sounds like a good storyline and, as I posted on the last page, harks back to the 1960s in some way. Will be interesting to see if it does go ahead.

Going back to Sean for a minute: he was relatively funny when introduced (was it really as long ago as 2004?) but I'm also extremely tired of the character now. It'd be nice to see a new gay character introduced to the show - preferably one who isn't a stereotype.

I just thought I'd post a little bit more about the as yet untitled BBC Four drama about the origins of Corrie. I believe filming began last week. Some surprising and interesting casting: Jessie Wallace will be playing Pat Phoenix, Lynda Baron will be Violet Carson, Celia Imrie will be Doris Speed, James Roache will be playing William Roache, and David Dawson will be playing creator Tony Warren, to mention just five of the notable names. Take a look at this news article from Digital Spy in which you can see Jessie as Pat and Celia as Doris. Here is the press release from the BBC, which gives some more details about casting, etc.

I don't know about anybody else, but I'm looking forward to watching it!

I not sure whether to keep using spoliers as some people are and some people aren't.

People talking about the 60's crash thought this photo was woth posting as it was on a story about the current new storyline.

Let's hope one of them involved is one of the people pictured!

They will have to build something behind the viaduct, as at the moment it would reveal part of the Granada premises rather than another street!

I like this, of course people will complain, saying it was done in the 1960's, but a lot of people wasn't alive then! Even if they were they were only young and might not have watched, the storyline is definitely a show changer, that will have a massive effect on everyone

Presumably,

This will be part of Molly and Trev the bin man's exit storylines

Oh and,
is it really necessary to keep having these conversations within spoiler tags ?

I think everyone in this thread reads the spoilers anyway, so probably not :p

Apparently "The Mill" are behind the visual effects for this, and Corrie is also working with Manchester's transport company too

Sean isn't a stereotype, he's just himself.

But I never found him funny or a good actor.
