Presumably there are examples of someone dying in real life after filming their on screen death and before it being aired.

The original script for the final episode ended with Ted standing on a ledge preparing to commit suicide, in a call back to the beginning of the episode, but Dermot Morgan died the day after filming ended and so the original ending was dropped in favour of a montage of clips from the show.
