I notice they no longer show the two main meerkats in the sponsor stings, I assume they're making some new ones?

Probably being too picky, but in light of recent sad events, I think the BBC could have gone with something a bit less vague than "Coronation Street role recast" on the RSS feed for their story on the (re-)recasting of Bethany Platt.

The actual story is that, after the previously chosen actress was revealed to be 25, not 19 (the character is 14), they've now recast the role.

I don't think anyone would mistakenly assumed that they had recast the role of Deirdre. Sad
Stedixon, bilky asko and Brekkie gave kudos

Mavis has lost 9lb on the 5:2 diet! So all is well up in the Lake District it seems!!
Also, Visa Contactless seems to be the product placement of the week in the new Bistro!

Nice tribute to Anne Kirkbride just then on ITV. The original Dierdre and Me documentary but with a special introduction by Bill Roche.

Obviously as it was filmed a few years ago it was all at the old studios and producer Phil Collinson was one of the talking heads.

More dodgy subtitling on Friday. Bethany Platt sees her gran Gail in the Rovers and says, as you'd expect "Gran!"

Unless you're a deaf viewer or otherwise watching with subtitles, in which case you'll think she said "Mum!"

I emailed Deluxe and complained about their subtitling on the show, in particular with regards to the subtitles calling Kirk, 'Cakey' repeatedly . I immediately got a VERY defensive and thorough breakdown of my complaint, explaining that all of the errors were reasonable for the subtitlers to make as the words had been in use in the show. Didn't really address the point that they made no logical sense for anyone watching.

When has anyone ever said cakey? Cake, maybe, but not cakey. That's not even a word. Every time they think that word has been used, was probably actually Kirky, which is what you were complaining about! They must have some prats running that place.

Does anybody know where the red rec scenes were filmed on last nights Prigramme.

Ah, well, if you saw the most recent Saturday Night Takeaway, you'd now know that the Japanese for "cake" is "cakey" (roughly phonetically, at least).

And now, it seems, the Corrie subtitlers can't even spell (or spellcheck), even when they do seem to understand what's being said:

It's only a faze anyway. I give it six weeks, max.
