Cracking explanation by the way - really appreciated.

You're welcome.

The new view is actually courtesy of Chewy, though! Very Happy

I'm confused at Rosamund Street turning 90 degrees?

The viaduct appeared there in the 1990s out of nowhere, so I suppose that area of Weatherfield must have some sort of spacial rift, which also accounts for the trans-dimentional oddities between the interior and exterior of the 'Rovers' for so many years. Laughing

It's probably the same anomaly which moved over the road and transported Cluurr & Ashley's stairs from one side of the living room to the other overnight. Shocked

When you've got murder, rape and adultery going on at every turn, I doubt the residents are too bothered about a bit of their reality being reconfigured. Thumbs up

Does anyone have any caps of how Cluur and Ashley Peacock's stairs changed? I don't think I remember

Was there a particular reason why they moved the stairs? Also, am I right in thinking it wasn't long after this that Underworld was revealed to be a tardis and developed an upstairs?

Didn't the stairs move after Rhona from Emmerdale torched the house? Or did it happen before?

In the flat above the Bookies the other week, a bedroom appeared just at the top of the stairs, where they have always been to the right of the camera. They've moved back again now. When Alison and Kevin, and later Sarah Lou and Todd lived there, and the camera faced the other way, the bedrooms were 'behind' where the cameras are now.

Don't forget also the Rover's massive upstairs living room, long consigned to history. Or Tina's flat suddenly getting a fire exit into the builders yard. Or Dev's shop being too large, with too many back rooms.

To quote Marion Clune " Joe public will never clock a damn thing'"

I seem to remember it being changed shortly before the fire, it always seemed odd, since if they'd have waited until after the fire, it wouldn't be so jarring. Though I do think the Peacock family actually had been off screen for nearly a year at that point.

It was certainly changed before the fire as you say.

Or the fact that at one point the cellar of The Rovers had a window which would be facing into the foundations of no.1 Coronation Street...

It did indeed. This pic was posted in March last year with reference to "Ken Barlow's underground torture chamber" ... !

However when it was last seen, there was no window and was much smaller with a complete different design.

IIRC ... when it was last seen on screen, Karl Munro had started a little bonfire that ultimately wrecked the pub!

Is it that the stairs completely moved or has the camera positions not just simply been moved around and stairs on left instead of behind - hard to base it on the big pic which you just see glimpse of stairs.

Brain is hazy!
