Is the second picture where the original outside set was located?
Very close to it, yes. This pic that I think I've posted here once before should give you a rough idea of where it was.
The blue shape is roughly where the main terrace facade was, the red arrow points at the old viaduct, the green shape is where The Kabin and Kevin's garage is on the current set (and the 1982-2013 set) and the yellow shape is where the old factory (which became Baldwin's Casuals) and community centre used to be.

Article in The Express claims a rare promotional film from the 1970's has been uncovered.
It was to try and sell Corrie to US tv.

If you look closely at this larger version, it is clearly obvious that Michael Le Vell has been edited in as he is away from the show at the minute.

Looking at the full size photo*, it's quite obvious that like the previous group photo it's not completely authentic. So far I can tell that both Kevin Webster (presumably for obvious reasons) on the far left and Steve McDonald on the far right have been photoshopped in.
Not the best photo seeing as those on the left and right have been stretched out.
