IIRC ... it was reported earlier this year the Quay Street site had been sold to IKEA. What happened to that deal?

They lost the Allen key to take down the set.

It does look great, but I have noticed something. You can see the tower of the IWM North sticking up above the viaduct. How will they disguise that during street-length shots?

IWM North = Imperial War Museum North

My guess is they won't bother. After a couple of weeks it will be as if it had always been there.

They could always write the building of it into a storyline.

The timelapse footage showing set construction reveals that they have constructed closed-wall practical buildings (rather than façades which is more common).

Very unusual - but perhaps not surprising given the large scale investment.

There are three studios which will house the interiors to shoot on day to day - but they could now do shots which begin indoors and continue on out onto the lot.

Seems to be much more popular now. Casualty did the same with their current set meaning we can have shots starting from the ambulance right through to the ED.

Something minor and perhaps trivial I know, but I couldn't help noticing in last night's 7:30 pm episode, Tina and Simon
were playing a video game on an original Xbox from 2001-2005. The control pads were definitely from that console.

A potential product placement suggestion ... Microsoft could have an Xbox ONE on display at Barlow's Buys!

So bad, someone's already sold it?

It could be a product placement paid for by Sony.

I've already seen them on display at CeX stores in Manchester and Bury ... for £575!

Confused
Why would Sony pay ITV for product placement of a very old version of Microsoft's Xbox on Corrie?

Read the posts in order and think about them. My post is in response to Bilky Asko's response to your suggestion.

CeX are paying over the RRP for Xbox One consoles to ensure stock; they often do it for new launches. Most, if not all, people selling consoles to them will either be doing it to make a profit, or because they bought the console as a review item.
