In another rant, I find it amazing that the Platt's house, joined to the factory,
remained entirely unscathed after the explosion . . . Odd.

I'm 99.9% sure the Platt's house isn't physically attached to the Underworld factory building. Eitherway, with the very
close proximity of both, the Platt's house should still have sustained at least a bit of damage from the flying debris.
At the very least, the house should have had some of windows broken by the outward force of the blast.

That doesn't necessarily got to have something to do with Gail. The whole storyline of Tracy claiming Gail confessed didn't make sense anyway - she's supposed to be quite clever, yet didn't think the police might just not stick to their word. It also annoys me that Ken and Deidre were shocked that she lied.
Am I looking too much into this? Smile

True about the first bit, although the only reason Tracey did it was to stitch up Gail-- perhaps Tracey was desperate enough to believe the police? As the police hinted afterwards, the deal would've only stuck if Gail was convicted of the crime.

Deirdre has always had too much faith in her daughter, despite the repeatedly vile things Tracey has done... so Deirdre's shock was in character I suppose-- I surprised Ken was so shocked though.

And thoroughly deserved. Although got a feeling they'll turn it down, certainly Eileen anyway.

that's good news - they deserve it!

and why do you think she'll turn it down?

on one article she's quoted it says
Quote:
Coronation Street stars also featured heavily including Eileen Derbyshire, 78, who has played one of TV’s most enduring characters, Emily Bishop, for nearly half a century.
The Cheshire-based actress said of her MBE: ‘I’m honestly astounded and very surprised.’

The platts house isn't attached to the factory but it would have sustained damage as would the side of the Kabin and Rita's flat. Brookside was more realistic when one of the houses exploded all the other houses had their windows blown in

sombody posted that
Vera's stone cladding is going

may be something to do with new HD camera's making it look fake
it's plastic fixed to battononing as real stone cladding would be too heavy for the façade as the terrace is one long building which looks like a row of houses

Great news about Barbara and Eileen.

Yes the Platts is seperated by the back enterance and garden from Underworld but its certainly very close.

They're acceptred/rejected before they are announced publicly. Much deserved - far more so than Catherine Zeta Jones's CBE.

Is the Corrie omnibus on ITV1/2 being extended at all this weekend to cover the extra episodes?
