The font doesn't match the old signage, so the title sequence will need updating.

They didn't bother changing the title sequence when Nick's Bistro was rebuilt.

I'd be surprised if we didn't get a new title sequence after the move to Media City, but not just when the new Rovers opens.

When will they be moving into the new set then? They cant leave the street and its punters without their beloved Rovers, surely? Laughing

The new Rovers frontage has been spotted on Twitter

The glass in those windows looks wonky?

Also this is just silly, no way would it be refurbished after a fire like that to look almost the same outside and in! It would have been too expensive to get replica green titles and have that tiled rovers sign re-made, It would never have survived the fire intact, given the tiles were already falling off the wall anyway.

I also don't see them being able to get matching rovers glass for the windows! I'd also have thought they would have been replaced by Double glazing (its cheaper, the wooden windows would have been too badly charred)

As for the inside, a backstreet pub wouldn't have insurance that would pay out for all that junk yard mess on the walls - it would probably be a bit of new wallpaper / paint and a few pictures. A pub near me got made over, and to start, it was quite bare, its taken a few years for the nic-nacks to come back, and that pub didn't burn down it just got a face lift.

And, finally what would most likely happened to the pub is that it would have stood empty for ages, and eventually been turned into flats, or maybe a flat upstairs and a takeaway downstairs. Given the streets numerous retail outlets already I think planning would have been a breeze and a change of use would have made more financial sense. (though being a soap that's the only one of the issues I could let slide)

And the fact that the Rovers urinals are in the Barlows' living room doesn't bother you? It's fiction....

Then why not set the show on the moon, or build the houses out of cake? Very Happy

The Rovers looks quite a bit bigger, and there is definitely going to be two windows upstairs

Is that waterway at Salford Quay navigable? If so, wont filming of external scenes potentially be disrupted with vessel horns blaring in the background?

Yes it navigable but not used that often and usually only by pleasure cruisers for tourists so won't have any effect at all.

It's no different to filming anywhere else outside. Even at the current set there is potential for rogue noise if say a helicopter flew over. They would just have to re-shoot the scene if needs be.

There's a big difference between a random/rogue helicopter flying over a location which is far from a flight path than having a film set positioned right on the edge of the Heathrow runway!! Of course, producers wouldn't choose the latter, for obvious reasons.

Hence my question: is the waterway navigable, suggesting significant traffic and, therefore, frequent (rather than seldom) interruptions.

But, it appears it isn't, so we can all rest easy.

It was widely reported a while back that they couldn't move Corrie to Salford Quays as the noise of seagulls would cause problems. I don't know why this is no longer a problem. Maybe they invested in some kind of JML Seagull Scarer device.

I'm at MediaCity every day and I've not heard either seagulls or noise from traffic on the Quays. The waterway is navigable but isn't used much, certainly not during the day. In the evenings you do get the occasional party boat but other than that it shouldn't be an issue.

Did you see that? The "Continues in half an hour" text appeared over the Coronation Street logo.
