that first pick looks like a joke as the stairs are the barlows, unfortunatly going the wrong way

That's not the barlows, wrong wallpaper, its more like Gails or Windass'

It's definitely the Windass' set, it's just the next set, that door is always shut.

So, if Stella wants the Rovers to look the same as it did before the fire, and Corrie aren't moving to the new outdoor
set at Trafford Wharf until later in the year, it does beg the question ... what exactly was the point of the fire, except
to kill off one of the regulars (and one non-regular) in a massive explosive stunt?

The revamp isn't going to be any more radical than the the redecorating job that wet blanket Vernon did in 2008!

I think it was widely assumed by many (including me) that the Rovers fire story was created to explain the physical changes to the new Rovers exterior, such as the addition of new windows, etc.

May have been the intention. Not sure how far in advance a storyline like this would have been decided, but it could be that they did intend for the storyline to coincide with the move and then it was put back a few months.

That is true, the original move date was supposed to be Spring 2013, then they had to knock down and rebuild the studio buildings.

If indeed the fire story was done to tie-in with the move - which, as you rightly say, has been delayed by a few months - then it's a shame that they couldn't have had another small storyline about the Rovers needing more repair and renovation than originally thought, so that it would remain all boarded up until the MediaCity complex was up and running.

Having said that, I'm not sure if there's a precise date set in stone for them to move in...?

On the subject of the new set - it is nice to see that they are building the exterior with what looks like reclaimed brick, just as the 1982 backlot was. The brickwork is a very close match to the current set. It certainly will be interesting to see the bigger scale on screen. I imagine it will take a little getting used to!

This picture shows how similar to the current street the brickwork will look (also, how much bigger it is! I've put the pic below to compare with the current Kabin)

The glass in those windows looks wonky?

Also this is just silly, no way would it be refurbished after a fire like that to look almost the same outside and in! It would have been too expensive to get replica green titles and have that tiled rovers sign re-made, It would never have survived the fire intact, given the tiles were already falling off the wall anyway.

I also don't see them being able to get matching rovers glass for the windows! I'd also have thought they would have been replaced by Double glazing (its cheaper, the wooden windows would have been too badly charred)

As for the inside, a backstreet pub wouldn't have insurance that would pay out for all that junk yard mess on the walls - it would probably be a bit of new wallpaper / paint and a few pictures. A pub near me got made over, and to start, it was quite bare, its taken a few years for the nic-nacks to come back, and that pub didn't burn down it just got a face lift.

And, finally what would most likely happened to the pub is that it would have stood empty for ages, and eventually been turned into flats, or maybe a flat upstairs and a takeaway downstairs. Given the streets numerous retail outlets already I think planning would have been a breeze and a change of use would have made more financial sense. (though being a soap that's the only one of the issues I could let slide)

And the fact that the Rovers urinals are in the Barlows' living room doesn't bother you? It's fiction....

The font doesn't match the old signage, so the title sequence will need updating.

Corrie humour erupting last night with Julie asking "Why was I drawn in by Kirsty?" to which Izzy promptly replied "Because you're daft!" and Stella's Gloria thinking Dev's kids were named after his supermarket competitors "Asda & Aldi".
