The Platts have had 1 storyline after another since 2000!

I agree about last nights episode - I could have easily watched another hours worth of Corrie!

well we will come tomorrow! Laughing

If last night was good, I've got high expectations of the explosion episodes ( although I've proberly got too high expectations and then I'll end up being dissapointed!)

Well I meant straight away not waiting 2 days!

Im looking forward to tomorrows eps but ITV must be gutted that its ended up on a night when Corrie isnt usually shown and not even advertised in most if any tv guides. Hopefully lots of people will realise and tune in.

yeah I was joking! Laughing

also they haven't seemed to be advertising these changes - and as it's mostly about the explosion now, it isn't as though they can't show a promo!

strange that on the EPG it's got Corrie listed as two episodes and also the CA just said " In a change to some billings, Corrie is on tonight at 8:00 and 8:30 - as though there two programmes! Laughing

Good idea IMO. The first episode doesn't continue straight on to the second episode so better to air them as two individual episodes than an hour long special.

I suppose so , but IMO it willl look a bit sillt to have the credits and then the announcer saying "join us next for.... Coronation Street!"

They may not need to show the credits, but we'll see in 30mins

I bet they will still get complaints even with the "Featuring scenes of Gun use" warning at the start.

And sure enough ....

Ofcom also received 39 complaints that it was inappropriate for ITV to air two episodes of Coronation Street on Monday night, 7 June, which featured a shooting during a siege. Complainants believed that such as storyline should not have been aired so soon after the Cumbria incident.

ITV had already delayed airing the episodes, which were meant to be broadcast on Wednesday and Thursday last week and featured a tense ongoing story line about Tony Gordon, played by Gary O'Brien, escaping from prison and holding hostages in the Underworld clothing factory.

Nice mention of Big Brother in the first episode. It could almost have been written to be broadcast today.

explosion was great! Shocked
it made me jump - had me on the edge of my seat! Laughing
so it was only Tony and that Robbie that died in the end!

also nice to have uninterupted credits for once!

Weird - the new font is on the writer and director credits now. Looks good.

Episode feels a little weird too.

yeah, just noticed that too.

Why does it feel weird - any reason?

Silly, melodramatic script aside that was the best episode of Corrie I've seen in a good few years. They really weren't overstating the expense - absolutely spectacular.
