Spot on, Jamie!
That pic is indeed Tanya, I think her surname was Pooley, (former Barmaid and girlfriend of Des Barnes) and played by
Eva
Pope...this must be from where the mistake has arisen!

Thought so...not sure why certain things stick in my head like they do! Whilst seeing Des, Tanya was also having an affair with a man called Alex (I think Des's boss at the Bookies) who also appeared in Allo Allo... Useless information, I'm full of it!

Wow, that's a great website! Reminds me of the level of interaction back in the early days of the Web/Web 1.0, that you just don't get nowadays (see BBC website cuts). The splash screen especially reminds me of those days.
Interesting site - although check out the residents of The Rovers Return (Eva Price
)

She played a really good complete bitch, the scene, with Betty, Raquel and Bet I posted from youtube was a classic Corrie scene.

BBC News - Coronation Street set refused listed status
An application to give listed status to the Coronation Street set, which would help
secure its future when it is vacated next year, has been refused.
Could the current Corrie set now be at risk of being demolished after ITV Granada vacates Quay Street next year?

Why is the medical centre never used anymore? or was it closed after the damp was found?

There was some mistakes in tonights episode when Dev went to answer the door towards the start of the episode. Adi turned to Asha and said "I'm telling mum" to which she replied "no you're not" and then they repeated it. The problem was Asha's lips did not move at all the first time. When Dev stood up he said something but this didn't match his lip movement.
It was really obvious and I wonder why no one picked up on it at the edit stage.

interesting link about a painting of the corry set
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-18408242
what puzzles me is it is supposed to have been painted in 1961 but:
baldwin's factory is there,
number 7 looks new,
there is no misson hall
no railings across the viauct
and above the terrace is the cooling tower which is behind the current set
how did the artist know in 1961 when the set was in a studio that there was a tower there, that was never a feature of the street, it's a feature of the surounding area of the set and only appeared 22 years later when the current set was built
it may be a representation of 1961, even then it's still incorrect, the street it too short for starters, but I don't think it was actually painted then, maybe that's why Phil Collinson didn't want it either

You're right. In no way was that painted in 1961. It looks early 1980s to me. A bit of fib-telling going on, I think!

anybody into manchester history an in particularly the corry site may like this website
http://manchester.publicprofiler.org/beta/sidebyside.php
rather blows away the theory on most haunted that the set is built on a mass grave
