Shame he's a terrible actor, perhaps it's not on a permanent basis.
Well he is more a journalist nowadays (after his brief spell with problems quite a few years ago). IIRC he has worked on the Manchester Evening News as well as doing stuff for the BBC such as Inside Sport
We will be a Corrie short w/c 13 Feb - due to football airing on the Thursday. So just Monday & Friday doubles that week with no sign of the missing episode anywhere else in the schedule. Wonder if it will make things out of synch.
Presumably come May, and the end of the Champions League, we'll see Corrie returned to Wednesdays, which for the pacing of the programme will be much better.
BREAKING NEWS: We can exclusively reveal that Frank Foster is set to be murdered in the wake of the shock trial verdict.
Viewers were left stunned as evil Frank Foster, played by Andrew Lancel, walked out of court a free man, after the jury found him not guilty of raping Carla Connor.
Now events will take an even more dramatic turn as tensions rise and vengeance will be on the minds of several characters, climaxing in Frank’s death!
And with so many residents having a motive for killing the twisted factory boss – the list of suspects reads like a 'Who’s Who' of Weatherfield.
Even his latest conquest Sally Webster, played by Sally Dynevor, will finally see Frank’s true colours – leaving her feeling humiliated and terrified of the man whose bed she has been sharing.
Over the next few weeks Frank will continue to alienate himself as he sets his mind to making ex fiancée Carla pay for dragging him through the courts.
Andrew explains: “Erase and eradicate, that is his plan. And he will go about it in the worst possible way. He is enjoying tormenting Carla, he is enjoying turning the screw.
“His true colours are finally showing through and no one is safe in his scheming head.
“But he doesn’t for one moment think his life might be in danger he is too arrogant and too cocky to think that could ever happen to him!”
Frank’s lifeless body will be found in the factory – after days of arguments and confrontations with associates, lovers and enemies alike – leaving police and viewers baffled as to the identity of the murderer.
Fans will be on the edge of their seats as the mystery unravels and the killer is finally unmasked in true soap style.
Stay tuned to the official Coronation Street website for more about this big event.

Wasn't it announced that it would move back to Wednesdays in the autumn, as Euro 2012 will be airing in the Summer - meaning soaps will be shifted around a bit?
Hope Terry's stay is as short as possible. Though at least the storyline won't be as predictable with Jack and Vee gone. Still won't be able to act for toffee.
Why do soap's not leave the "bad boy" characters alone. Terry here and Nick Cotton in Enders. Always unimaginative storylines and both actors are suspect
thanks chewie, which way are we facing as the set is being built in the same geographical layout as the existing set, as in the terraces faces south, etc

At this end of the set is where the viaduct will be
In that case it would appear they're changing the geographical layout, as that photo is facing north, taken I presume from the top of the Imperial War Museum.
Progress seems to have understandably stalled since Christmas, given the holidays and the bad weather. I'm on MediaCity most days and there has been hardly any changes on the site recently. We were expecting building work to ramp up about now, but I'm guessing the current freeze is holding things off.
