I loved tonights episodes, much better than what we've had for Christmas Eve since 2004 I'd say (even though it actually wasn't Christmas eve at the time lol)
I loved the little Beetham tower bit, it's easily forgettable at times that Weatherfield is part of Greater Manchester
Nice ending to the episode too

As far as I'm concerned it's Manchester.

The snow in tonights episode looked ridiculously fake! Can't help but feel it's becoming a bit of a parody of itself under Phil Collinson.
Great scenes with the return of Sylvia though, and I'm really liking Kylie at the moment, never thought I'd like her when she first came into the programme, but in my opinion, she's far superior to Becky in terms of character/acting ability - Becky can only whine these days it seems!
Also wondering when Betty will be referenced/mentioned. I guess they want to give her a proper send off rather so all in good time I say.

I think Becky's exit from the show, must be the longest in the show's history

It was more realistic than 2004's snow :p
The opening to tonights ep was a little different lol

Weatherfield (AIUI) was originally meant to be a suburb of Salford. Since then, it seems to have gradually expanded from
being an average sized town into what is nowadays being fictionally classified as a borough within Greater Manchester.
To avoid a similarly heated Salford/Manchester discussion to the one we had in the Blue Peter thread ... for the sake of argument or mainly to prevent one, let's say the Borough of Weatherfield covers part of both Salford and Manchester,
with the boundary of either city running right through. The part of Weatherfield that comprises of Coronation Street and some of the various surrounding streets, would be within the Salford bit, in keeping with the original intentions
in 1960 when they chose (the long since demolished) Archie Street, Salford, as the real life basis of the main terrace.
It's entirely possible that other areas of Weatherfield, such as the precinct and Politanlink/CityTram station could be in
the city of Manchester over the other side of the boundary, quite possibly only a 5-10 minute walk from Corrie itself!
My dad always used to vehemently insist Corrie is set in Oldham! What does he know anyway? He hates Corrie!

It's its own town though, isn't it? Just in the Greater Manchester area
