lazy buggers probably just googled coronation street corner shop and pasted in the first photo that came up regardless of the fact it's 17 years out of date

Or perhaps they wanted to show the corner shop with an iconic character that is associated with it?

Has the photo been changed? First time I read the article i'm sure it was different, now shows the actual ATM thats going to be used.

ha! took me a minute to find them! They do have various brands on show, but seem to slightly obscure ther logo's by putting them on an angle. I'm suprised how all the broadcasters have been so reserved so far ( you'd think this years X Factor would branded cups albeit not by Coca Cola etc). I don't think people will mind this type of product placement as it's pretty much in the background.

They should have the Kabin start selling Cadbury's chocs. After all they used to sponsor the show. Smile

And the next time someone buys a new sofa or bed, expect them to mention Harveys, the main show sponsor.

The Road to Coronation Street is on BBC Four right now. Superb drama, even on repeat viewings it's still a superbly made programme.

They have had cigarette brands ie Lambert & Butler and Regal on Corrie for as long as I can remember, surely that was some sort of product placement even before PP was allowed?

It was allowed if it's not paid for, it was simply called prop placement.

It was the last time it was repeated too, as it was the time before that and the time before that.

Who was the first 'name' from the 60's, 70's, 80's to join a soap in 'modern' times? (Who hadn't been in a soap before, who appeared in top tv dramas of the day!)

Patrick Mower in Emmerdale maybe?
