Did you see the bit in tonights first episode. We got to see Ken and Deirdre from the nut bowls point of view and the camera zoomed in, we then got to see the but bowls from Ken and Deirdre's point of view and the camera zoomed in again. You don't see that everyday. When was the last time a zoom was utilised on Coronation Street?

Jez, always nice to read your posts. maybe it's because I haven't been on this thread for a while, but haven't seen posts from you for a wee while now.

I think you more than deserve an honorary part on The Street. How do you fancy playing Carla Connor's new love interest? Shall we start a campaign?

Fully agree with your comments about Eileen Derbyshire. By all accounts, she really is a lovely lady. Long may she live on Coronation Street.

With regard to Helen Flanagan, and Jez may be just the man to confirm it, but hasn't Helen played the part of Rosie Webster even since she was herself a toddler and not, in the true sense, an actress? In other words, isn't she one of the characters on Corrie who has never had any formal (Italia Conti etc) acting training, but in fact learnt the trade from being in the programme?

I stand to be - rapidly - corrected in my comments above.

Considering that twelve actresses have portrayed Tracy Barlow, but only one actress has played Rosie Webster, says something about a traditional apprencticeship being valuable in the intended sense?

prepair to be "rapidly corrected" Wink

Helen Flannigan has played Rosie since she was nine, before that it was Emma Collinge who played her from a baby

tracey has been played buy four people, Christabel Finch, Holly Chamarette, Dawn Acton and Kate Ford, they all appeared on Richard and Juy once when they interviewed Kate Ford some years back

Peter Barlow has been played by seven actors

This may have been posted previously, but jump into this link and watch the comedic performance of Doris Speed and Violet Carson in the clip here. Now, isn't that just bloody, bloody, bloody marvellous television? I defy anyone to disagree. And, could we relate any of today's characters with the same brilliance and recognition as these?

Sigh. Those were the days.

I havent been on TV Forum that much recently, and tend to mainly post on this thread when I visit Smile

Thanks but id much sooner play Tommy Duckworth's love interest than Carla's! They would need to turn Tommy gay then tho lol! Or Aaron from Emmerdale, he's my fave guy in soap at the moment Smile

I see your question re Rosie has been answered.

I think Peter Barlow holds the record. Susan Barlow was played by 4 actresses too but no-one else has come close to 7 I don't think.

Cindy Beale had a magazine called Chit in the episode this evening. How would one pronounce that if one were to ask Norris Cole to keep a copy behind the counter?

It's a French publication. Pronounced "shee".

Is it? I thought it was Chit Chat, a favourite of the late Blanche.
