certainly looks like it, they do use that area quite a lot, it was Cheryls strip club, the phone is where Sophie phoned Rosie when she was missing and it's also the market where Chesney works. guess it's handy to have an open space available to put in what you like rather than having to go on location each time

Yeah, saves having to go on location to shoot small scenes, this one looks like it might be a bit more permanent though

City Tram, really? I thought the fictionalised version of Manchester's Metrolink tram system was called "Politanlink".

Or did the tram crash force a corporate takeover and/or rebrand?

it's about time we saw a bit more of Weatherfield, the new set build will open up more areas so we may even get to see weathefield high street on a permanent basis, also interesting to see the tram station entrance

Well after this weeks papers slagging Corrie off, I hope they all watched the second episode tonight, it was great and really moving, Jane Danson was great tonight.

I agree. There has been a mound of stories, articles and opinions flying here and there - it's honestly so pathetic and tiring.

Jane Danson is one of the Street's assets, and tonight's episodes certainly proved that.

I was positive that the new set would include the street directly behind Coronation Street, but apparently it won't. I also hate how the current set makes Rosamund Street look pokey and small, possibly because of the looming great arch next to the Rovers.

I hope they manage on the new set to extend Rosamund Street beyond the viaduct, without the need for the large mural of terraced houses. It's supposed to be a main road and the main way into Manchester, isn't it, and isn't the often-mentioned Weatherfield precinct further down this road too..?

Jane Danson.. great actress. Repetitive predictable story.

Agree that Jane Danson is as excellent as ever - and Chris Gascoyne is very believable alongside her.

I agree on both accounts.

My favourite bit about Corrie at present, is the very inspired addition of Stephanie Cole. I've always thought she is a great (comedy) actress. Although she is clearly a replacement for Blanche, I think SC has really established Sylvia so well in such a short space of time; it's great how she can switch from acerbic one-liners one minute, to pathos about Roy's upbringing, the next.

She works very well with Julie Hesmondhalgh, Katherine Kelly and David Neilson

And to continue our agreeement - I agree on that re SC. Yes there is an element of filling the Blanche void to a certain extent, but her character has more depth in a short time. Nice scenes last night with Roy, when clearing up

A brilliant video of Leanne's miscarriage drama from YouTube.

Have to say Jane Danson was superb.

Pretty good Corrie this week, the only thing is - Did we really need Amber back ?

Also have Aunty Pam & Bill Webster left Corrie ? Haven't been seen in ages. I don't think we even saw Bill when Kevin got crushed in the garage ?
