Strange that there've changed their mind!

Strange that they would mention Coronation Street before the news at all when it was the news that kept it from being shown the past two nights. Why risk even slightly linking the two events in viewers minds?

It is worth nothing that the CA only said "Coronation Street is back tonight at 9 o'clock", he didn't say "After being off for 2 nights, Coronation Street is back tonight at 9". Is it possible that he was using an old script and they hadn't actually decided at that point in time?

The EPG on Sky has not yet been updated.

Incredibly sensitive postings from Digital Spy forums, as per usual:

It's going to throw their schedules into all kinds of trouble, and I think they're underestimating the audience's power to believe the soap as fiction.

Not again... this is a joke! How on earth are they going to get 3 episodes in before Monday's episode? I mean you got Britain's Got (NO) Talent on Saturday night as it's the finals and on Sunday some crappy Football Aid rubbish...

Why can't they can't they put it on the red button? If you want to watch, press red, it's easy.

Some people don't quite get the idea that it isn't real, it doesn't *have* to be shown at all and it doesn''t have to be shown before Monday before the next episode. TV history is littered with examples of TV programmes that are made but then never shown for one reason or another and a couple of episodes of Corrie that don't go out at the time it says in the Radio Times isn't the end of the world.

Inspector....you argued so well against yourself in your post, that there was little need for me to reply: other than to just acknowledge your own goals!

Excellent! Wink

Eh? Confused

If you want a proper discussion please respond to my points.... if not please return to Digital Spy

He doesn't, Inspector. At this point in any given discussion, Stuart will entrench himself rather than give way to reason.

Are you completely incapable of accepting the fact that people can have a point of view that differs from yours?

There is no right or wrong on the subject, just different opinions! If you're not mature enough to appreciate that, then you have my sympathy.

Scheduling confirmed:

Quote:
ITV this afternoon announced its schedules for the remaining episodes of Coronation Steet's Siege Week.

The shelved fourth episode of the week - which should have aired on Wednesday evening - will now transmit on Monday (July 7) [sic, think this should be June 7] evening at 7.30pm. Yesterday's episode, meanwhile, will air the same night at 8.30pm.

The climax to SIege Week - which was meant to air this evening - will be broadcast on Wednesday (June 9) as part of an hour-long screening, which will take in the episode which was due to air on Monday evening.

So will this weekends omnibuses on ITV1, ITV2 and TV3 still air or will these be shelved too?

They have also shelved the 'alternative endings' of the trial on the website ( http://www.itv.com/soaps/coronationstreet ) - damnit! I watched them film these in Bradford!

The omnibuses are already confirmed as scrapped, or offically "replaced".

More:

Quote:
Monday's second episode - due to air at 8.30pm - is now shunted to Thursday (June 10) and will be attached to that evening's scheduled episode in another 60-minute screening from 8pm.

Coronation Street schedules will then return to normal from Friday, June 11.

An ITV spokesperson said: "We apologise to ITV1 viewers for the interruption to this week's Coronation Street scheduling but, against the backdrop of Wednesday’s tragic events in Cumbria, it would have been inappropriate to broadcast these episodes this week."

So new schedule:

Monday - 7.30pm (Wednesday's episode)
Monday - 8.30pm (Thursday's episode)
Wednesday - 8.00pm (hour long - Friday's episode and Monday's first episode)
Thursday - 8.00pm (hour long - Monday's second episode and Thursday's episode as normal)
Friday - 7.30pm and 8.30pm (as normal)

So they'll be caught up by the end of next week.

mostly as expected - didn't think there'd won't to air it on Tuesday, being the lowest rates day. And this then has minimum disruption.

The late ITV2 showings have not been replaced this week, they just bring the next shows forward by half an hour and Nightscreen gets an extra half hour at the end of the night.

Alternative to what? The trial hasn't been shown on TV yet. The alternative endings will be online after the real ending is shown on TV.

The alternative endings were due to go online after Thursday's episode and before the verdict was revealed on-screen - they'll just put them up on Monday night now.
