I walked past there the other day with the missus and it's boarded up all the way round, although there are a couple of gaps where you can have a sneaky look. Had a walk round MediaCity UK and all I can say is wow, but it's weird to walk round when it's empty, which I doubt it'll be for long.
I seem to recall that reference was made to Elsies death on the video 'The Life and Loves of Elsie Tanner' released by Granada in the 1990's when Linda - Elsie's daughter revisited the street and met up with either Emily or Betty.
Watched last night, and will catch tonight's later. Love seeing Dennis back in the show. It's a bit mind boggling that he was in the show with some of the same people all those years ago - before even *I* was born.
don't think there's that many original characters they can bring back now as either the character and / or the actor are dead, the only other original actor still alive Is Alan Rothwell, unless somebody would like to correct me
don't worry Gavin I'm only ten years younger than Corry and I forget how old Ken and Rita are sometimes

Anne Cunningham who played Linda Cheveski (Elsie's daughter) and Daphne Oxenford who played Esther are still alive. There may be a few others but not many. Alan Rothwell is alive but the character of David Barlow was killed off in 1970.
It is also interesting to note that this is the first time there have been 2 original cast members in an episode of Corrie since 1984 when Elsie, Albert and Linda all made their final appearances.
They have put Dennis at the top of the current cast list, (which goes in order of when a character first appeared), ahead of Ken because Dennis appeared in the first episode before Ken did!
