I'm sure Roy mentioned his biological father left his mother, and step-father abused him-- mentally if not physically?

Is it me, or are all the new male characters sociopaths? Owen, Frank and Cheryl's ex. Actually the doctor seems OK... or is he :lol

Corrie was quite weak for a few years before Phil arrived, in fact I'd stopped watching, from December 09 to the factory seige

I think there has been plenty of light hearted and funny scenes lately, especially the direction the writers are taking Rosie and of course Mary and Norris (although their appearances are very sparse lately). The seeming lack of comedy is mainly due to Blanche, she carried most of it in the last few years. They could do with a new character like her.

What does everyone make of Nick's Bistro then? xD I hope we actually get to see inside it lol

I hate it.

Looks very tacky, but I guess in keeping with Nick's personality and character. The massive window looks awful though. That said, I can't believe how much I've got used to the Shop and the Kabin, and only the shop has been on screen so far.

I'm looking forward to Sylvie Cropper - hope she's reminiscent of the great older women in the cast over the years!

Speaking of which, what has happened to Norris, Rita and Emily lately? They seem to have vanished off the face of the earth - Norris was in yesterday's episode but only for a few seconds.

Sylvie sounds interesting, stark contrast to Roy & Hayley by the sounds of it

. I just hope they don't try to make her a carbon copy of Blanche, perhaps more like Madge from Benidorm. If they just slot her into Blanche's 'role' then she'll just look like a poor copy, especially with the lack of 'historical' knowledge which often formed the base of her insults.

Aye, that's my number one fear about the character, but Phil seems to have eased other characters in well so, I bet she'll be good.

About Nick's Bistro, the windows on the right hand side remind me of what Turner's looked like before Maya smashed through the window a little, the big window on the other side is really peculiar.

well nick is really peculiar, I mean he's aged a decade and no body's noticed, so it's in keeping with the character

Ben Price is almost 40, and I think Nick has only just turned 30?

I think what's more important is that he's regenerated almost as many times as Doctor Who!

Nick has only regenerated twice

I think Amy hold the record for most regenerations in such a short space of time, she's had six, almost one a year

now she looks like wednesday off the addams family
