Well of course it would, it was only partially destroyed. The majority of the structure was still in tact and when having repairs done you want it to blend in with the rest of the building.

I don't remember seeing that on screen for quite a while.
I'm guessing they will have covered up the stairway up behind the garage now, I'm intrested in seeing what Steve's old flat looks like xD

It's the fact that it went entirely unmentioned that was so surprising.
Plenty of people do home improvements which involve knocking down walls etc, but you would expect friends and neighbours to pass comment when they next visit.
