The Betty Driver story was brilliant - what a lovely lady.

Yes I agree completely. I had no idea she had such awful times in her life, you'd never guess at all would you. I also never knew she was such a big star during wartime! And still so ordinary and down to earth. A great lady indeed.

Not much discussion of current storylines. I'm sick and tired of the Colin Fishwick saga. Rolling Eyes

I don't know... I hated it when it started but under the new producer it seems to be a lot more watchable. The only one I can't really take seriously is Fiz, she just doesn't come across well at all.

I'm enjoying it, it's was good to see Tracy realise she'd alienated herself this week

I did like Sally inviting the Windasses round, just because Eddie looks scruffy to put off the house buyers!

I get the distinct impression that the new producer wants to wrap it up quickly, hence John's sectioning.

Corrie breaking new ground. A cross-dressing character :

Except there was one in Hollyoaks for five years. I suppose Corrie/Eastenders are slightly different though

id read Betty's autobiography a few years ago (it was written in 2000) so had read about her difficult life. I remember someone telling me she was a big star during the war.

I don't like the Stape saga either, also I cannot stand Tracy this time around, Corrie seems to have gone quiet, not much happening.

The best thing the last couple of weeks has been the Eileen stuff. A much underused character being brought to the fore.

And yes, can't they hurry up with Traceys re-trial and put her back in ? Very Happy

Pity its been all over the papers/magazines/internet so we all know whats going to happen before it airs. And it doesnt look that good, same type of storyline that has been done loads before.

I agree, the stuff with Eileen was brilliant and I particularly liked the scenes involving Julie. It made me realise that Eileen is a great character who doesnt get used enough.

IMO Julie has really improved as a character. I used to find her a bit irritating and silly, but lately I've been finding her quite funny, especially when paired with Eileen.
