Seen a few Corrie fans getting excited at the prospect of the new set with talk of extra streets/buildings. Hope people aren't getting their hopes up. They may be disappointed when they see the plans for the initial build.

Thought tonights episodes were fab, whilst emotionaly charged, they were hilarious in parts with Noris/Gail/Sally and other characters making some 'grave' comments Laughing

So do you know any more than us or was you just talking in general?

Plans are online now http://planningdocs.trafford.gov.uk/pamsearch/planning_application_search_pam.jsp?APPLICATION_NUMBER=76204/FULL/2010&SearchType=Planning%20Application/%22

Land earmarked for future expansion of the lot.

I would upload key pics of the lot, interior sets on each stage, visuals of the lot etc but I can't seem to work the upload on here any more. Anoying. Click through though.

Don't know about you but she seems far too young to be his mother. They're about the same age in real life! Confused

Stephanie is about 15 years Roy's senior, so isn't that out of the question.

They can probably expand into the car park, looks as if Victoria Street will get a backstreet too

External Film Lot
3.8 The external film lot will consist of masonry cladding on structural frames that can be easily moved or altered to suit filming requirements. A critical component of the proposal is the need to identify an area within which there is flexibility to allow for lot movement and expansion to take place without the need for further planning consent. In this respect the plans illustrate a LOT future development boundary [PURPLE] within which such flexibility is sought and has previously agreed as being acceptable in principle with the planning department. A 130% build boundary [GREEN] is also detailed on the plans which show the area within which the current LOT will be upscaled to from its current size in the existing site.

So let me get this straight, essentially, they're planning to build the new set with flexibility in mind, so they can easily
take parts of the set down temporarily, if the need arises. Which would mean they won't be using real brickwork.

If so, I hope the end result doesn't look more false and unrealistic than the current set, especially in HD.

Maybe brick buildings would have to comply with modern regulations and each require planning permission in their own right.
