I think I might have been past it, is it near Salford Lads Club?

As I said in my post, Archie Street was demolished in the 70s, however the cathedral in the photograph still stands.

that photo shows the even numbered side of Archie street with the shop being number two, the furthest house being number 22, the odd side was shorter with only six houses 1-11 with just houses on each end, no shop, so Tony Warren or whoever probably used the odd side of the street, adding and extra house and shop for coronation street layout

also nowhere near any viaducts

funny how the condemed houses are left open like that, not like today where streets due for demolition are boarded up and fenced off

Where is the Cathedral then?

Back to the fourth death cop out - and considering the tagline was about "four funerals" rather than "four deaths", considering they're very unlikely to show the funeral of the fourth victim, isn't that blatantly false advertising!

I wouldn't say so. It was merely a play on words - just something to put across to the viewer that there would be four deaths. Clever move as it would increase speculation about who the mystery fourth character was, but I'm glad there wasn't one. Rita lives!! Smile

On another note, does anyone think we'll get complete overhauls of the Corner Shop and the Kabin, inside and out? I've hated the look of the shop since it was last redesigned in 2004 - looks cheap. The previous design, while slightly old-fashioned with the big "Corner Shop" text and the beige tiles, looked much more acceptable - I've seen shops in streets that look exactly like that even today.

Also, would the storyliners take the accident as a chance to get rid of the Kabin's sub-post office status? That counter hasn't been used (or seen!) for probably more than five years.

Yep often Norris would be behind the counter I seem to recall. Shame its not used anymore, just as an alternative to the usual Kabin shots we get.

The old Corner Shop (seen in the days of Maud Grimes etc) looked realistic but the most recent one didn't at all, there didn't even seem to be proper full height shelves.

The Kabin was ok though, but as you say, removing the Post Office should be done as it hasn't been seen for years.

The Post Office I would assume was removed like most of the rest of the country and put in a very inconvenient place Smile

Probably in the same place as the Lottery terminal that only ever featured in one episode and was blurred out rather badly.

Not so long ago, when Gail was sacked.
