Is Roy Hudd guesting as Archie Shuttleworth for the funeral episodes?

Did he do Jack Duckworth's? (Didn't see the episode!)

Intriguingly Roy Hudd did not appear for Jack's funeral, as far as I can recall? The last one he did was Blanche's, where he reprised his double-act with June Whitfield (the latter playing a friend of Blanche, who told the bad news to Deirdre)

Having seen the end of the epic omnibus today (It's a shame they don't do 'End of Part One'/'Part Two' etc anymore to see how many parts there actually was!)

There were 68 characters credited in the live episode - 52 proper characters and 16 Paramedics, Firemen etc.

Characters not in it were
Deirdre Barlow, Emily Bishop, Michelle Connor, Pam Hobsworth
Liz McDonald, Gail McIntyre, Bill Webster, Betty Williams and all child actors

91 characters were in the whole anniversary week - 66 proper characters and 25 police, fire, tram drivers, Charlotte's parents, midwives etc

Aadi Alahan, Asha Alahan, Michelle Connor, Liam Connor Jr and Liz McDonald were the only ones not in the whole week, I'm not sure if the 3 kids were actually seen at all, but they weren't credited.

Now why doesn't that have the NHS Logo, as I assume Fizz is not private.

I thought security focussed more on the lanyard than the pass?

The photo was of John and he even says to the police officer "Late shift mate". Hoping someone can shed some light on it. It wasn't a GMP or NHS ID.

I think he actually said "makeshift" as he pointed to the ID pass - ie, it's a makeshift pass.

He said "Late shift, mate"

There should have been a scene where we saw someone from the hospital give him the ID card, it would have made it clearer what was happening. In fact, they should have given him one for John Stape and one for Colin Fishwick.

He said Michelle wasn't in it.

Thanks for the breakdown of the weeks credits - interesting to note of the 68 characters in the live episode only 50 something were regulars.

Just been reading Digital Spy Forums and someone posted that Phil Collinson has confirmed the 4th death was the guy in the car mentioned in the script by the firemen and it was used as a red herring to make people wonder who else died. If this is the case I have to say im slightly disapointed! Four Deaths and a Wedding - I expected them to be at least characters we knew. As it is only 2 of the 4 deaths were regular characters who we knew died anyway.

Thought I'd link these - quite intresting -

It's a shame if the 4th death is a cop out Jez, but I think it may be, because I couldn't realistically see anyone else dying now ( apart from Sunita) and surely they would have had the death in the "special week" along with the other deaths.

Where did Phil C say this apparently then? Did the DS thread give any details?

Here is the link to the thread - http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=1407749

No idea if its true but I would guess, as you say, if there was a 4th death it would happened by the end of the week. Dont get me wrong, Corrie was amazing but I cant help feeling it would have been great to have a surprise death.

But yes at least we still have Reet! It would have been an excellent ending for her tho, especially as it was a tram!

Confirmed it seems:

Coronation Street fans have now seen the last of the soap's 50th anniversary deaths, Digital Spy can confirm.

Last week, viewers saw Ashley Peacock (Steven Arnold), Molly Dobbs (Vicky Binns) and Charlotte Hoyle (Becky Hindley) all perish as the soap marked its milestone with seven special episodes which saw disaster hit the cobbles.

However, as the celebrations concluded on Friday night, some fans were left wondering whether there was more tragedy to come as trailers for the 50th anniversary had contained the tagline "Four Funerals and a Wedding".

DS can now confirm that the mystery fourth death was the taxi driver and father-of-three mentioned by firefighters in Thursday night's live episode. He had been close to The Joinery when the bar exploded.

Corrie bosses had created the "Four Funerals" tagline as a red herring in a bid to increase the speculation and secrecy surrounding the high-profile week of episodes.

Show producer Phil Collinson today confirmed to DS: "It was vital that we created as much anticipation and intrigue as possible for anniversary week. The 'Four Funerals' tag was too good to resist and encouraged the speculation about who would and who would not survive this terrible week in Weatherfield.

"In this case, speculation became a big part of the viewers' identification with the drama and therefore enhanced their enjoyment of it."

Ashley's passing was confirmed last Wednesday as he died a hero while trying to save Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) in the crumbling Joinery. Molly died in the next evening's episode due to the injuries she sustained in the tram crash.

Meanwhile, Charlotte's demise began when John Stape furiously attacked her with a hammer just before the tram hit. After making her terrible fate look like part of the carnage on the cobbles, John later advised Charlotte's parents to turn off her life support machine once doctors explained that she would not wake from her coma.
