Resumption earlier than Monday would seem inappropriate to me.

I agree - and there are plenty of slots in next weeks schedule where they could catch up too. Ironically too the World Cup actually makes ITV's schedule a bit more flexible too - on nights they don't have games it's generally soaps + repeats, so they could easily catch up within a couple of weeks.

I agree - even if Corrie doesnt return until next Monday its not going to make a huge amount of difference - they will be 3 episodes behind and can catch up gradually over the next few weeks until they are back on track.

No, I'm a big fan, who has been looking forward to this storyline since January, I just want to know when Corrie is on next, not a crime is it?

I am a big fan as well but until we know whats happening whats the point in stressing over it! We will be told when the next episode is going to be screened - if in doubt tune in at 9pm just incase.

Also as we have so long to see it a few more days arent going to matter.

I know, but I'm a creature of habit, I like to know when things are going to be on Razz

Catch up with what? They don't make many topical references so it can be 3 planned episodes out forever for all it matters.

In reality the ones that are being written/produced now will have any changes that are needed made

Plus they could put two Emmerdale's tonight and tommorow, allowing more Corrie next week

I dont think they will do that - it could confuse Emmerdale fans and they might as a result miss an episode and then have cause to complain to ITV. If Corrie does not air tonight or tomorrow it will most likely just be a filler programme.

Catch up with what? The only thing that'll need changing are the TV listings. It'll just be 3 episodes out until the ones currently in production are shown

Well they will be 3 episodes behind so at some point they are going to need to find 3 additional slots otherwise Corrie would never get back in line with where its supposed to be. Corrie is filmed 8 weeks in advance - therefore there are about 8 weeks worth of eps (approx 40 eps) that have been filmed. ITV order 5 episodes a week from Granada/ITV Productions of Corrie - doubt they will reduce that because of this incident.

You must have been livid when they announced that the episodes would be on at 21:00 rather than the usual times this week, then just as you have got used to the idea they postpone at least one episode - possibly more. This must be a terrible time for you and I'm sure I can speak for the forum when I say our thoughts are with you at this distressing time.

I'm sure that the contract has suitable terms to cover these eventualities, if it doesn't then it should. Even then it's a contract within the ITVplc group so any issues are wholly internal anyway.

No surprise really.

It's a shame , as already the first few episodes this week have been really good.

In other news saw this today on an external blog from the Corrie website - not sure if it's true.

There's a sinister Coronation Street spoiler in today's Star. They reckon that John Stape hides the dead body of his ex-colleague Colin Fishwick in the wreckage of Underworld when it blows up this week.

John stole Colin’s identity so he could continue working as a teacher after his release from jail but the paper says that he goes into meltdown when Colin Fishwick unexpectedly returns from Canada. And the paper exclusively reveals that Fishwick will end up dead after the two men clash.

Desperate to buy himself some time, Stape hides the dead body in the factory, which is being reconstructed after it exploded during the siege. Builders at the site pour concrete over the exact spot where he’s hidden Fishwick’s body, burying it forever. Run, Fiz, run!

I doubt it'll be back until next week.

Which is presumably when a number of the funerals will be held and there will still be intensive media coverage (unless the various broadcasters agree to pull out, like they have done in similar situations in the past)

For those in the communities affected things will be pretty "raw" for some time, but ITV can't drop a major storyline in a flagship programme. Striking a balance will be difficult.
