She's referring to Episode One (from 1960) if you listen in context. It is confusing the way she says 'did you see the first episode last night?' but she means 'episode one' not 'the first of last night's two episodes'.

Hmm ok I see now Very Happy

Corrie sparks tram service 'confusion'

A handful of "confused" Coronation Street fans were left wondering whether Manchester's tram service was still running following Monday night's disaster episode, it has been revealed.

Earlier this week, a dramatic storyline on the ITV1 soap saw a tram crash onto the famous street, resulting in scenes of terror on the cobbles.

However, after the spectacular stunt had aired, the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive's travel advice line received at least six calls from viewers who wanted to check whether real-life tram services would be affected.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, a spokeswoman for the GMPTE confirmed that "half a dozen" enquiries were made after the episode. However, she added that none of the callers were panicking or in distress over the matter.

Reports are suggesting that an advert for the soap's online ITN tie-in - which features fictional news bulletins about the crash - could have added to the confusion.

Rolling Eyes

On another point, North West Tonight did a section in its programme last night dedicated to Coronoation Street and Gordon Burns kept saying he was in the Rovers but looking at the pictures below, he wasn't. Where exactly was he? Is that like a fake set they use for visitors and the now rare tours?

Isn't that the actual interior of the outdoor set?

I think EastEnders has (had?) a fake interior of the Queen Vic, which I saw once on one of those Gaby Roslin daytime shows in the 00s - it looked pretty dark, dusty and horrible as clearly it wasn't used very often! (and the dimensions were wrong too, although not quite as dramatically as the Rovers one looks)

I remember that. Very small bar and very shallow area behind the bar, albeit there were bottles n such on display. I seem to recall someone saying they hang around inside when its cold and they're waiting to be used on the square.

Depending on the shots done on the lot, we do get to catch glipses of the Rovers and Vic interior once in a while. Tends to look more like what we expect when they're suitably lit.

It's probably the "fake" rovers retrurn they have that used to be part of the Granada Studios Tour, round the corner from the real street, which I believe is used for guests and audiences for programmes buiding filmed at Quay Street.

It is indeed the very same. Although back in 1988-2000, the year when when Granada Studios Tour was open,
the replica Rovers Return looked a bit more like the studio set we usually see on screen, albeit with a bigger
floor area between the bar and the seating, a smaller bar area, two large doorways in the wall to the left of
the bar as you look towars it, and to the right as you look from behind it. The opposite wall where the
two doors for the toilets and cellar are on the studio set, there's only one door.

Also, the wallpaper back then was accurate ... it was the same pattern used from on the set 1986-2008.

The stained glass divider between the seating booths changed without explanation on the set, a few years
after the pub had been been renovated due to the fire in July 1986. In the replica, the divider remained
the same as the original 1986 one throughout the years of the tours being open to the public.

Now though, the replica looks like an ordinary small pub with a similar layout to the Rovers Return.

I do know that they recreated as much of the interior set as possible in the inside of the exterior Rovers, obviously for certain camera shots which allow us to see beyond the entrance doors, but I'm guessing it's mostly an empty shell. Anyone else know for real?
